Brainstorms.
My new brand ATTICA. Go to AtticaBrand.com for 4 free beats right now!
I made the instrumental to this track awhile back and my man @louiethefree told me “You need to write about Aja (my daughter) on this one.” So I took that idea and went a step further by writing about my daughter AND my wife and this was the final result. Hope you guys enjoy it. This is a new direction for me sonically and I feel good about it. Hit me up at 919-701-4883 so I can send it to you personally. Tell a friend about it too if you like it and help spread the word! #RADTheEP
This is the best I’ve heard from you Justin. Love it. So much heart. And the beat is sick.
Thank you man!
Thank you guys for supporting my new song "Pride & Joy". If you haven't heard it yet just peep my bio. The past couple of days a few people have asked me, "Yo who mixes your songs?"... Which is a really bizarre question to me because they've asked it in a way that was a compliment. I still feel like there's a LOT of room for growth for me as far as mixing is concerned. For the past 3 years I've been mixing all of my stuff with those $20 headphones from Big Lots you see in the picture above. I don't even own a pair of studio monitors 😬. But I guess the underlying truth is that you can accomplish WHATEVER YOU WANT if you dream and work hard enough. Even if that means you have to work a lot harder than the next person to accomplish that goal. Mixing audio with cheap headphones is NOT an easy task, but I've conditioned myself for it. Growing up I taught myself to improvise and work with what I have, most of the time that wasn't much. I've never let limited resources stop me from accomplishing anything. You can do anything your mind can conceive.

The EP.
#RADTheEP is something I'm slowly putting together. Something honest, something feel good, and something different. Honest stories and emotions. Feel good vibes, nothing overdone. And different sonics. This isn't hip hop, just eastsidehigh. A new sound.
Fear is the enemy. #RADTheEP
Growing up I remember being the black kid that was "different". The kid who liked playing football and skateboarding. The kid who's favorite rappers were Jay-Z and The Clipse, but loved punk rock and hardcore music too. The kid who moved from the drug and crime infested projects in Virginia to the suburbs in North Carolina... Then the country and various other places. My life has never had any kind of boundaries and that used to get me ridiculed a lot when I was younger. People didn't understand me. A lot of people STILL don't, but as of lately our generation is becoming much more open minded. Nowadays it's nothing to see a black kid riding around on a skateboard. It's nothing to hear a black person say they listen to genres of music other than hip hop. We're all progressing. We're all in this together. Never be afraid of who you are, it might become the norm in the future. #RAD
