verses.
AGE 16-17 HIGH SCHOOL VERSE:   a touch too bitter,  wild with teenage angst,  the black sheep of the family with your books and art and your off-the-wall comments and habit of wearing makeup when youâre in your room.  ( and those visions that no one will believe you about,  no one but your sister,  and even then you question if she really understands but you know she tries. )    dark hair bleach and dyed blonde and blue;  a rebellion of sorts.   depressed but an expert in hiding it when youâre at school.  weird,  weird,  you queer,   bullied with harsh words from a few cruel peers and chilled by the coldness of parents that donât want to understand,  but youâre fine,  arenât you?  ( what they donât know is you leave home when youâre 17 after you dream about flying,  and you donât go back. )Â
AGE 18-22 / SPARK VERSE:   where are you?  where arenât you?  you pass in and out of lives,  a warm vibrant flash of sunshine even with your hair long and dyed auburn red. you donât know how you manage to live with what little money you have,  what little everything you have,  but you manage.  godâs eyes are on you,  and you manage.  ( and godâs words are in you,  too,  and you finally you start to really listen. )Â
AGE 23+ MAIN VERSE:   luck seems to fall into your lap at the most divine time.  help out the right stranger,  and suddenly youâve got a quaint little shop to sell your craft.  all your crafts.  the jewelry and art you create yourself,  but also the tarot readings you provide to anyone who knows to ask.  ( or to anyone who you have a feeling just needs it. )Â

brows furrow into a suspicious confusion, mingled with a flush of interest. no, no he shouldnât be flattered or moved. ( he wants something from you, a voice supplies and heâs fool enough to believe it to be his own. )  âoh.â he states faintly, eyes daring to glance back to the other. teeth bite into his lower lip and he wonders ever so slightly if this stranger is truly a stranger.  âiâm gabriel,â a tremor goes through his hand and he shoves the appendage into his hoodie pocket,  âand you donâtâ you donât have to leave.â i am lonely.
â    gabriel!   like the archangel.  iâll remember that one.    â   repeat it though you already knew his name,  in that way you always know people before you might even realize you do.   in dreams,  in whispers.  and in gabrielâs trembling loneliness that feels more familiar to you than most.   it aches,  aches,   like a scar from an injury youâve never had.  Â
â   ------ well,  gabriel...  care for an orange?  theyâre fresh.  or--  fresh-ish.   â   itâs absolutely absurd,  the way you procure an orange from the black leather bag youâve got hanging loosely off your shoulder and hold it up for the other to see.  like a trophy,  or maybe more like an offhand distraction for the demonically distraught.

â   oh,  please.  stop laughing at me!   â   but arenât you the one laughing?  all bright and fluttery,   yet tensing up tight with nerves when you wobble on your knees like a duckling thatâs just been hatched.  fingers splaying over your mouth to hide your embarrassment while the other darts about to keep your balance as you scoot along.
clearly not the most graceful on roller skates,   and therefore entirely unlike her.  right now,  you wish you could soak up othersâ talent like you soak up their thoughts.  at least thatâd be more useful,  especially in the vibrant but chaotic way excitement spills about the rink.  so many people having fun,  itâs no surprise it pours right into you.
MY HEART IS NUCLEAR  âââââ   LOVE IS ALL THAT I FEAR.  (  READY TO BE LET DOWN  /  NOW IâM HEADING FOR A MELTDOWN.  )        #ATOMICDAYS.   low activity. dash only.

he doesnât want to steal; has plans to return with money enough to pay for it,  but with christmas coming up  scott REALLY WANTS to get his mom something she deserves  -  something thatâll make her smile for once. problem is,  the guilt is overwhelming.    â â  are you gonna call the cops on me?  â
â   hmm.   â  you draw it out teasingly,   cheeks hollowing as full lips purse in thought and you trail a finger against the bottom lip.  your other hand lifts,   palm up and waiting for the other to offer up what he stole.  calling the police hadnât crossed your mind yet;  too invested in UNDERSTANDING.  after all,   you canât help but believe that if someone steals,  theyâre likely stealing for a reason.  especially if itâs someone with such a vibrant light haloing around them like this boy before you.
and god,  that guilt.   itâs so loud,  you almost feel bad for teasing.
â   ------ well,  i might.  i should,  shouldnât i?   unless...  are you going to apologize?   â
itâs from dust iâve come, to dust i will return. independent & private oc. written by angela.Â

his mother would disapprove of him slouching. but he does so all the same, with his shoulders hunched in on himself. muscles in his back tighten up at the stranger, the unknown sitting next to him. ( no, youâre not familiar, why are you sitting next to me? ) pale blue eyes shift to the other and he swallows as he quickly looks away.  ââ-no.â he but only mumbles, voice already soft but softer now due to nerves.  âwellâ i donât mean that,â gabriel backtracks, something he does and will always do to spare feelings.  âi justâ- do i know you? iâm sorry if i do, i justâ.â heâll cut himself off there, save him the trouble of making himself looking a fool.
â   you donât,  donât worry.  iâm sun-woo.   â  you reassure him;  but you know him.   feels a pang watching him stutter,  itch to crawl back into his skin and avoid your all-seeing gaze.  for a moment you politely glance away towards your hands,  watching yourself fiddle with one of your many rings.  because when you look back up at gabriel,   you see far more than just a boy with a wearily suspicious slouch.  but your smile is softer now.  â   ---- you just looked a little bit lonely over here,  is all.  i can leave if you want me to.   â
open starter.
â   if youâre going to steal,  you might want to not look so guilty before you do it.  â   what you donât say / what you really mean:  theyâre thinking too loudly.   itâs all you can hear,  and it gives them away.

â   you look like someone who needs a friend right now.    â   youâre a friendly stranger with a friendlier smile,   sinking down gracefully next to gabriel.   as your left eye gleams,   just for a moment,   golden and gifted.   seeing things you shouldnât;   seeing too much.   and just like youâve done these past two years,  through dream after dream of a darkness that matches the color cloaked around him,   this boy you feel like you already know,    you donât look away.  your smile only grows,   disarming and charming.   â   ---- or maybe iâm just the one looking.   â

heâs a vibrant neon street sign on a dark road.  boldly,  brightly burning right through your sight and practically screaming at you:  HERE!  what youâre looking for is right here!  have you been waiting all this time?
your head ticks to the side curiously,   and like that youâre smiling,  smiling like youâre seeing an old friend for the first time in years.   you donât hesitate,  tapping on his taller shoulder as if you donât feel the energy pulsing off him,  this energy that feels so much like your own.
â   hey,  you.   â  so knowing and secretive all at once. Â
starter call. :o)
