now which one of them understands charity best hmmm I wonder

Charity: Puts on the same outfit she's been wearing every week for ten years Vanessa:
EMMERDALE | 22.07.26
charity heard a platonic gal pals allegation and said not on my watch 😌
she's my ex actually 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
vanessa's meddling strikes again <3 (until tomorrow when she inevitably decides not to come forward)
I'm also infuriated that Vanessa had to tell Charity to give Mack another chance. I can understand Mack has two wolves inside him, one that wants to help Charity through her assault, one wants to take revenge on Ross and feels like he can't be with her because of the lies. Okay sure. But Charity clearly isn't coping and his brawls with Ross aren't helping. And yet Vanessa speaks on his behalf. Do they have to mention him every time they have a conversation to make sure it doesn't pass the bechdel test? She's reassured Charity about him twice in recent memory.
Honestly the whole thing is bizarre - I disagree with people criticising Mack for how he's dealing with everything and "making it about himself" because well.. the part where Charity cheated on him and had a secret baby with his friend is in fact about him?? But I don't like the narrative making it about him, or Vanessa having to step in and vouch for how amaaazing he is every time they have an argument for some unknown reason.
Like can we just imagine for a second that when Charity and Vanessa were together.. Charity tried to have sex with Cain and the only reason it didn't happen is because he rejected her. She then told someone Cain was the best sex she ever had lmao. Vanessa found out that Charity tried to sleep with Cain and she barely batted an eye and then Charity continued to go to Cain for support, and Vanessa was constantly running to Cain for help with Charity. And Cain was constantly having to reassure Charity about her relationship with Vanessa?? I'm sorry it would have been absurd, but for some reason because Vanessa's a woman we're just supposed to ignore all romantic history and see her as Charity's platonic gal pal there to encourage her and Mack to live happily ever after (and if I said the only reason Mack doesn't care that Charity tried to cheat on him with Vanessa is just plain homophobia...)
I also need Vanessa to off dr Todd and for Charity to get back with her. M says he's being supportive but then he's full of rage and doesn't want to be near Charity, then he says he cares again. No wonder she went to see Vanessa today.
mack and charity clearly care about each other but imo their relationship isn't good for either of them. she either just gives in (or he does) or always needs to be convinced by someone else to give him another chance and it sticks in my mind how the only reason she got together with him properly was because vanessa told her to lol... 4(?) years later and here we are... it's not a glowing statement is it
mack is always bringing up reuben (his own secret love child) as a way to guilt trip charity so i don't know why he doesn't just go and be with him. maybe he'll ultimately be the one to kill todd and go on the run and find him.
like obviously charity is not faultless but remember the reason she got drunk and slept with ross in the first place? because she felt that mack was glad she'd miscarried sarah's baby
maybe their relationship was fun in the beginning (idk i wasn't watching atp) but it's just tiring now and doesn't work.
how about vanessa gets to kill todd but mack agrees to take the blame for it because he's so self-sacrificing these days 😍😍
Idc what people say, Charity has more chemistry with Vanessa. She trusts her more and Vanessa's presence seems to be calming to her. Like you said they'd scenes always give "why did I let you go" but they manage to be friends and support each other. Im gonna be hopeful
i want to be hopeful...
i think the next few weeks/todd's murder/whenever the baby secret comes out will be telling. right now vanessa is definitely just filling that role of friend for charity to talk to who's a woman who isn't chas. the bails trial history is an added layer but who knows if the writers really care about that.
once todd is dead hopefully mack will decide to leave her. (even if vanity never happens again, they need to be over PLEASE) but until i see that happen i don't have any trust in the writers lol
but you're right their 10 second scenes have more chemistry than an entire episode of m/c. i'm looking forward to next week and the hospital scenes! (are we back in 2018...)
the way vanessa realised straight away when she saw charity's face. the feelings are still there even if the writers are pretending it's platonic now.
i did see the spoiler for the following week "old feelings resurface" or something like that and for a second i did hope but i doubt it'll be them. probably kev and robert or ross and laurel or whoever lol
I also need Vanessa to off dr Todd and for Charity to get back with her. M says he's being supportive but then he's full of rage and doesn't want to be near Charity, then he says he cares again. No wonder she went to see Vanessa today.

there's something so sick and twisted about vanessa having to reassure charity that mack loves her so so so much and he's the best guy in the world please give another chance for me 🥺
i personally think we deserve to see vanessa kill todd then start an affair with charity with no remorse and then laugh in mack's face because he thought she'd given him another chance
