IT’S NOT A QUESTION HE EXPECTED, to say the least. for being his favourite son the child he’s most proud of, magnus sure does ask some silly questions. “ if you have to ask, you don’t deserve to know, ” he responds offhandedly, turning to face the warlock. “ did you miss me? ”

"Can't miss what you never had – so no. Nothing to miss." He says with a smile, though his face immediately falls into one of unamusement and irritation. "What are you doing here? I thought I made it clear I wanted nothing to do with you."

A nervous smile, “I used the front door?” Magnus didn’t need to know exactly how she used the door, just that she did.

"Oh? The front door wasn't perhaps wide open or guarded by wards were they?" He smirks, "Silly me I don't leave without setting them." Eyes narrowed – knowingly – though he rolls his eyes and has to imagine she's only there for some sort of Clave business.

ALEXANDER.

“guess he’s a fast learner.” the dry humored joke blanketed the room with its sardonic nature. jaw tensing as his gaze shifted to his fiance and slowly, he drug his knees up to himself, palm going to press into his eyes until stars erupted behind eyelids. “it means something is going to happen, doesn’t it?”

"I hate to admit it but I think it does. I have been feeling a little off lately myself but I didn't want to pay any attention to it – if you feed the fear it only will grow." Softly, Magnus sighs and moves towards Alexander, allowing a hand to pass along his arm before he moved towards their son in order to lend a hand – knowing that Max would need to sleep sooner or later. "We will get through whatever comes our way – we always will when we have each other."

ALEXANDER.

“i did. twice.” frustration traveled through him as he bent over a bit, hand rubbing along the tension twinging at muscles. fingers dancing like a pained pattern over his neck. “he’s fussy. i think he knows. i think — he can tell that something is wrong, magnus.”

Just the thought of Max being able to sense this shift didn't sit well with Magnus. He wanted to protect his son – just like he knew Alexander did. "It wouldn't surprise me, though I can't say I'm happy about it. I would have hoped he wouldn't come into such intuitions so early."

“max — please.” a sigh leaves tired lips as quick hand brushes against raven locks. his shoulders sagged as his frame all but collapsed against the child’s bedside and cerulean hues locked with mischievous glazed navy ones. “you should have been asleep an HOUR ago.” // @edomveined

It wasn't hard for Magnus to watch on as Alexander attempted to get their youngest son to fall asleep – in fact it was something he adored watching. However, tonight Max wasn't in the mood to sleep and it was clear his darling Shadowhunter wasn't handling it well at all. "Alexander, you know you would have better luck if you just told him his favorite bedtime story."
