I'm not 100% sure if it's true but I think Meyer said that Alice can't see their future because the werewolfs are too 'emotionally driven' so their decisions 'shifts' a lot which makes Alice's power not work because it's based on decisions affecting the short future and now I somehow hate Stephanie even more

like twilight from jacob’s point of view is literally “these bloodthirsty demons came onto our land, causing us to shift into wolves which then gives us little free will bc we all have to answer to an alpha and we all share a hivemind. also they brought more vampires into the area that do hunt on our lands and kill people so now we have that to deal with. on top of all of that, he’s using his perfect predator allure to lure in my best friend who i have been developing serious feelings for in the process of trying to help her heal from where he left her here unprotected. i’m trying to save the love of my life from a fate worse than death bc i know she’s choosing it as an easy out and as a way to be attached to her fix for the rest of eternity bc he’s like a drug to her” how is he bad and evil and all this shit he’s so fucking complex and let’s not bring up resume bc that didn’t happen ❤️ bc it’s so ooc for him to just accept the imprint like that esp in a romantic sense when he was very vocally against the concept ❤️
