At the end of T7 Miguel was already on the verge of reconsidering his vengeance which is FINE as a character arc for him but with Tekken 8 making everyone go "It's okay Jin we believe in you!!!" with no build-up I'm so so worried Miguel will show up and they'll do to him what they did with Eddy and just go "No it's cool we're cool now" like bro's whole point of existing as a character wasn't to hate Jin Kazama specifically. Like I am actually so worried that if Miguel comes back bamcai will drop the ball harder than anyone's ever dropped it before. Their story as of right now only has One Guy in it who doesn't go easy on Jin and it's the Villain of the game. I feel like they don't understand that a character isn't automatically bad for disagreeing with the protagonist because thats a perfect spot for Miguel to fill. Even if Miguel decides revenge isn't the right option I would Like It if he still harbored that hatred because Jin did in fact still blow his sister up. We need someone around who won't pretend dropping bombs across Europe is something that can be handwaved because the guy who did it is so so sowwy

So, this happened today

Harada was giving one of his usual long-form essays about behind-the-scenes info on Twitter today, and at some point the conversation shifted towards Anna. In a separate tweet he was explaining to a twitter user who was claiming that he hates Anna that he, in fact, loves her and the whole reason why she started to diversify in Tekken 3 from being just a palette swap of Nina's into her own character is specifically because the dev team likes her and they want her to be popular.

In this particular tweet though he talked about the lore behind their parents and the roles both of them played in Nina and Anna's training.

But in the replies, someone asked for the Nth time why they don't have Irish accents.

I suggested in one of the replies that it would be a fun running joke if Nina and Anna only spoke in their native accents to each other and retained their cover-up American accents when speaking to the rest of the cast, and Tara Platt, Anna's VA, actually saw the tweet and replied!

At least she's not a dude and she also looks considerably better than Tekken 7, although in now seeing that the Tekken curse of the teenagers all having one face has now carried on to the mature ladies all having Nina's face 🤣 I mean Nina has objectively the prettiest face in Tekken 8 so it's not a bad thing but come on Namco, I know you know how to do varied female faces. Just try.

Something a bit more worrying is that there was a datamine leak claiming Lidia would be next and then... Marduk and Fahkumram which is GROSS

And Anna would have slayed that Zack Island stage reveal come on...
