Compilation of the doodles.
Whenever I see Anakin show up now...
I just see the guy who killed Master Daki, and a whole bunch of other people. His redemption has become utterly meaningless because of how much truly evil deeds he has accumulated in the newer media.
Vader used to just strangle incompetent Imperial Officers, and be menacing/evil in a way that provided the wiggle room towards eventual redemption. But his maliciously motivated kill count now has become astronomically high lol
Now I just see a serial killer, and question his actual state of mind. Did you really have a change of heart? Because I certainly don't believe it anymore lol
Another scribbly moment based on muh fanfic. Gotta make sure to keep the vulnerable Lizard Wizard warm!
Another scribble based on muh fanfic.
Lawson: Never thought I would be breaking into my own Police Department.
Daki: Life is often full of uncertainty, and strange ironies my friend.
Lawson: Ain't that the truth...

Resisting the urge to pull up refs, while knowing that once I do check to see in the end my OSD tendency is gonna kick in BAD! I can already see a lot of problems lol
Think the spirit of his face in there though lol

At my local reptile shop, found Eeko Dio Daki's ancestor lol
I love how the top of his head is almost entirely lifted from this species, even the way the skin colours behave in different conditions.
Eeko Dio Daki may be short, but he stronk!

Daki X Lawson fanfic Chapter 7: "I fought the law....".
To catch up with the story so far see this post https://www.tumblr.com/sciencefictionismyjam/818076583159037952/eeko-dio-daki-x-lawson-fanfic-all-parts-so-far?source=share
Master Daki crawled through the access panel opening into the ventilation system that, once inside, offered a limited, yet still usable view of the hallways below via the slatted air outtakes along every few metres of the duct. It was dark, claustrophobic, and he had barely enough room to move inside stealthily in a low crouched position. Not exactly the most comfortable stance to be in for any extended period of time, especially for his aged back muscles, but he would just have to make the best of it, reasoning to himself. Hearing the access panel cover being secured back into place by Lawson behind him, he took that as the signal to begin tracking both Brander and Reb as they prepared to make their way towards the Station Armoury. âAlright Reb, letâs get moving.â, Lawson quickly looked up and saw the reflective glint of Dakiâs muted green eyes just barely visible through the vent slats, giving his Mosyk friend an affirmative nod. âMay the force be with you partner...â he said before following Reb down the hallway, Blaster in hand. âYou too my dear friend.â, Daki replied as he watched them both set off. They were going to need all the hope they could get, if they were going to make it through this station alive...
Chief Clyceâs office, or, more accurately. What had used to be her office... Was once an administrative space reflective of the TDFâs storied police culture. Full of wall mounted holographic commendations from the Department itself, and Janix Leadership in honour of those who protected, and served the city with distinction. Be they Clyce herself, and all the many TDF Chiefs of Police before her. Now... Just like with the rest of the station, it too was converted into just another sterile, almost entirely empty grey room. Devoid of even the slightest trace of the individuals who had previously occupied the office. Today it was the home of Blake, lieutenant Blake. The very same Imperial Officer that had the unfortunate Police Chief  âpermanently reassignedâ, or what he would personally coin as an âeconomicalâ version of the truth of that matter. It did not take long for complications to arise after the ruthless Inquisitor he assigned to interrogate her got to work, and well... Sometimes âaccidentsâ happen in these situations. (That is what the fine print on the report would say anyway...). Whether she was innocent or not, it mattered little now, and if anything. It would serve as a stark warning to the rest of the Department, should anymore potential traitors to the Empire attempt to step out of line. At least, that is what Blake had reasoned to himself at the time, before all the chaos that had transpired on Janix under his watch that is...
Near the main desk of the office space, the Lieutenant was busy nervously fixing his newly pressed Imperial uniform, which was a near identical copy of his original that was scorched in the heat of an intense Star ship engine blast. A deadly explosion for which he barely survived, had it not been for a heap of falling debris, and the broken body of a rather unfortunate Trooper having shielded him partially from the inferno... Looking into a mirror mounted on a wall cabinet, the young Imperial Officer strained a frustrated expression towards the unsettling sight of his own, now scarred reflection. His once sharp freckled facial features were now disturbingly offset by a severe burning of almost the entire left side of his face. With seared skin and muscle, even large patches of his blond hair replaced with burn marks, it all served as a humiliating reminder of the parting gift the treacherous criminal âRheena Sulâ left him amidst the fiery chaos of her hastily devised escape from Imperial custody... The former bounty hunter turned informant for the fugitive Captain Lawson. Had outsmarted both Blake, and his men to save her fugitive friends from almost certain capture, by destroying her own vessel with well placed fire from a Trooperâs weapon. He never anticipated that she would have been so capable to disarm, then fight off so many Troopers... It was an embarrassment to the Empire.
So explaining this obvious failure to his enraged superior Officers, was an equally painful humiliation that saw him being relieved of his leadership position on the very Star Destroyer his Forces arrived on, and what was worse... It could have even cost him his life, were it not for recent reports of the supposed death of Lawson, and even one of the Jedi fugitives in the wake of Maulâs escape off world circulating within Imperial intelligence channels. The looming fear Blake still felt towards the possibility of a visit from a displeased Lord Vader however, would not be leaving his darkest thoughts anytime soon... For it was Blake who was chosen specifically for this Operation, being expected to be the one to straighten out the TDFâs failed attempts at apprehending the fugitive Maul with an overwhelming Imperial Military response, but so far all that he had accomplished was losing several Imperial Storm Troopers, Pursuit Speeders, and Gunships... The expenses of the doomed Operation were rising far beyond the scope of resources, and funding that was originally allocated to the task, and the Empire always looked for the most convenient of scapegoats to take the fall for it all, when it eventually needed to be accounted for. Blakeâs punishment for now, was to take over all security operations on Janix, and clean up the mess he left behind... Hopefully that would be the end of it.
Blake put on his Officerâs cap, and adjusted itâs seating to ensure it was within dress regulation. Then looked back at his scarred visage once more, with a bitter mixture of both seething anger, and a growing fear in his eyes... He was going to make Rheena Sul pay for his failures, one way or another. His career, and even his life depended on it.
Suddenly, Blake turned his attention towards the sound of the Office visitor notification system, with a corresponding light blinking on the remote door locking interface that was built into the main desk. Swiftly making his way to answer the call, he cleared his throat before pressing the blinking response key on the control panel to speak. âYes, who is it?...â, he said with some amount of irritation laced in the words, and soon enough a response came through the speaker system, âSir... We have a potential security situation.â. Blake furrowed his eyebrows, then pressed down on the key again, âEnter...â Blake then pressed the other key next to it, to release the lock on the office automatic doors, and a Storm Trooper soon marched in to give a perfectly formed salute for his Superior. Blake however cared little for these pointless formalities right now, and just wanted the information he had...
âReport Trooper, and be quick about it.â Blake said. Acknowledging the order almost instantly, the Trooper snapped to attention, then delivered the information, âSir, several hours ago a Rodian living within the Slums situated on the outskirts of Janix city, came to one of our Patrols. He reported seeing a Male Human that matched the description of the fugitive, Captain âBrander Lawsonâ, who was presumed dead in the ruins during Maulâs escape.â. Blake froze, his hands began to shake and the residual pain from the still relatively fresh burns on his face became uncomfortably more noticeable than usual. âWho else knows about this?!â Blake said with anxiety laced curiosity. âSo far only you, sir...â The Trooper answered, a little confused by the question. Blake with some amount of poorly disguised panic in his voice, responded, âTighten security, increase patrols and make sure all our squads report in on any suspicious activity both within, and outside the Station perimeter. Immediately!â Blake demanded loudly to the now startled Trooper â... Yes, yes sir. But what about the Rodian? Heâs asking for the promised Imperial credit reward...â The Trooper asked somewhat anxiously, though he likely already knew the answer. Blake clenched his fist, and with a free hand pulled at the tight collar on his grey uniform that was now giving him an unwelcome choking like sensation, clearing his throat before responding. âBring him in for further interrogation... And do not speak a word of this to Command, the Inquisitors, and especially Lord Vader, or Iâll have you transferred to an active warzone off world as a Mud Trooper! Do I make myself clear?â. The Trooper, who was now visibly frightened even behind all the armour, straightened up his posture again and saluted Blake, this time with his hands visibly shaking. âYes... Yes Sir!â, voice almost cracking even through the Helmet speakers. âYou are dismissed...â, and sure enough the Trooper had swiftly marched out of the office, the automatic doors sealing behind him leaving Blake alone with his thoughts again.
This was going to complicate matters...
Lawson, and Reb finally made it to the Tactical Armoury. Most of the high powered Blaster weaponry had been confiscated by the Empire, leaving only the most basic of Blaster sidearms, and stun weaponry, though it was fortunate he already had a Trooperâs Blaster Rifle handy... Lawson breathed a sigh of relief, as thankfully there was also a full set of TDF Tactical armour still available. âOkay Reb, cover me while I get this on, then we will head towards the Server room.â, Reb nodded, and posted up near the doorway to provide security for the Captain. Meanwhile in the Vents above, Master Daki kept a close eye on the two, making sure to watch, and sense for threats himself.
Lawson had soon enough suited up in the full TDF tactical armour, finishing off by equipping the full face concealing helmet to complete the âdisguiseâ, while trying to ignore the obvious irony. âOkay, Iâm all set...â Lawson confirmed to Reb, but suddenly darkness fell within the room, and alarms fired off in the corridors, with only the corresponding flashing red lights providing an ominous, pulsing illumination. Daki heard the alarms as a semi muffled echo through the ventilation system, which made him worry for Reb and Lawson below. For Lawson, this was a worrying reminder of when Maul and his team assaulted the Police station to kidnap both Vario, and Devon. Many Officers were gunned down that day, so whatever triggered this alert could not be good... He could only hope that their cover was not blown just yet. âWhats going on Reb?â Lawson shouted over the blaring sound of the alarms. Though Reb could only shrug his shoulders in confusion, being just as at a loss to understanding the current situation as his Captain... Suddenly a loud voice was heard over the Station wide intercom system. âAttention, attention, all squads are ordered to increase patrol patterns, and tighten security at their assigned sectors by direct order of lieutenant Blake. All standard security code cylinder access privileges are now revoked until further notice. This is not a drill, I repeat, this is not a drill...â.
âBlake...â Lawson said to himself, the man who got Chief Clyce killed was still here. None of this was sounding good at all... Reb and Lawson turned to each other, and the look in both their eyes said it all. The situation was dire, and Lawson knew they would have to expedite before the Station was entirely locked down. âDaki! Scout out ahead of us, see if you can locate an Officer. We need to get to that server fast!â, Lawson shouted to the Mosyk Jedi over the alarms. Daki understood the heightened urgency, setting off down the vent while Lawson and Reb got ready to move. âGonna have to do a lot of improvising here Reb, stick close.â, Lawson said, then pressed a button that shut the visor on his helmet to conceal his face. Reb nodded, and followed the Captainâs lead.

Daki face from memory practice. Not great, not terrible lol
Daki's death in Shadow Lord is still one of the most traumatising deaths of a recent Star Wars character I grew to love in a very, VERY long time.
It really messed me up... Not just because I loved the character, but because of how cruel it was. What do I mean by that? Well for an elderly Star Wars character he is unique in that he endures almost constant season long Injury with little time for respite, or recovery.
He's starving, sustains kicks to the gut, and face, hard punches to the jaw, violent falls, gets thrown into walls... He is never not in a constant state of peril. If he was a Human character I'm not sure he would have been beaten up so damn much which kinda makes it weirdly exploitative. Say if in 1977 Obi Wan was subjected to that same level of punishment before his death, you would rightly call it elderly abuse at a certain point lol
Not even Qui-Gon Jinn experienced such insane levels of Injury before his eventual death, and that is also live action.
I guess because of the fact Daki is a cartoon Lizard man the writers and animators thought it would be okay to put him through so much physical trauma, with the reasoning that general audiences would not be too bothered by it. But its still really hard to watch if you are genuinely emotionally invested in him, like I was...
