The Rest of a Spectre

To walk the halls of Eregion means to learn the forge is alive. To hear from the clink of a hammer and the spark of hot embers waft through the halls long into the night. When all else has fallen into slumber, you'll still see the forge alight with flame as the rhythmic chime of metal sings a lullaby of hard work never ceasing. It's unending. Unyielding labour. This ghost of the craft paints the halls with the music of forging. It haunts the halls with labour.

Oftentimes it is Celebrimbor who is the spectre. His hammer hits to the strike of midnight and beyond. His face was lit not by the sun, but by the fire at his back and the metal hot red. But as he walks through the halls he finds that the haunting has begun without him. The metal sings a song of being heated and forged into perfect shape. Perfect to all but the one crafting it, as Annatar works endlessly into the night. When Celebrimbor joins him in the forge, Annatar is eyeing a red ring, still hot, holding it in his hands bare to inspect his work. And then it's back to work, with finely pointed tools as he is still not satisfied.
