Not the one
You two were always together. From the times when you were in diapers together to the late night training sessions and the early morning games. You were always together. At some point, a routine was developed, like a silent pact between the two of you. If your parents were away for work, you'd have sleepovers. If either of you had a game, you'd both be at the game, either on the court or in the crowd.
Naturally, it wasn't hard to fall in love with the guy you called your best friend for basically your whole life. At some point, the way his arm would be draped over you when you woke up at sleepovers, and the way his foxy gaze would pierce right through you, following your movements on the court at games, and even just his annoying taunts and teasing comments that he threw around during the day would induce the biggest storm of butterflies within you.
But he was so casual about it. You told yourself that he was probably like that with everyone even though you knew he wasn't. You weren't stupid. You knew that all his friends were teasing him about some 'crush' he had. Secretly, you had your hopes up.
Slowly as the year went by, he stopped coming over. He stopped showing up to games, making up some excuse that his sister was sick, or that he needed to train. At first it was easy to believe him. Why would he lie? It was true that the third year of high school would be the last time he'd play volleyball with this team, so of course there would probably be more training sessions and he'd probably want to focus on his own games. So why would you see the Miya twins loitering around at the convenience store after your games, dressed ever so casually that it was definitely impossible for them to have come from training or be going to training? Breaking through your waterfall of thoughts, Atsumu called out, "Yo. Where's Suna? Aren't yall supposed to be together or somethin?". Trying to erase the shock and confusion from your face, you attempted to reply without anger, knowing it wasn't the twins you should be mad at. "no. He said he had training so he couldn't come watch". Now it was the twins' turn to attempt to erase the look of confusion that immediately found it's home on their faces. Having had enough of the tense atmosphere, you found yourself muttering a goodbye and shuffling your feet towards the door.
You called your friend on the way home and she demanded that you went on a shopping spree, claiming that " we will definitely see someone hotter at the mall".
It wasn't your friend's fault. It was obvious by the insane look on her face that was a mixture of anger, confusion and panic. How was she supposed to know that Suna would be at the mall with a bouquet of flowers in hand with a nervous look on what you thought was his permanently nonchalant face.
But why did he lie to you? Why did he have to lie to you about what he was doing to ask out some girl? If your friend hadn't dragged you out to the mall would he have told you? Would he have told you that he was giving flowers to some girl who was better than you in many ways? That she didn't even have to try to get him to smile whereas it took your whole life's efforts to get him to have some facial expression other than a smirk. Was he ever planning on telling you that he was only friends with you because his mother was friends with your mother? That he only had sleepovers with you and showed up to your games because his mother asked him to? Did he even tell his mother about this other girl?
Though, at the end of the day it didn't matter. It didn't matter at all that he had asked out some other girl. Because at least now you knew that you weren't the one he wanted to treat like that, and you certainly knew that you weren't the one.

Benn Beckmann
Always and Forever, Darling (fluff)
Always and Forever, Darling
You had known Beckman since you were in diapers, always teasing each other, running around the village, and training together. And while he grew big and muscular, with a dominating energy, you always stayed stealthier, preferring to run in the shadows. So it was only natural that when he joined the Red Hair Pirates, you stayed behind, continuing to pick up assassinations here and there.
Even though you didn't see him as often anymore, you were always in his mind. More often than not, Shanks would catch him staring out into the ocean, lost deep in thought with what could only be described as a lovesick expression, but he thought nothing of it; just thought the big guy was homesick.
As you both became stronger and more infamous, you found yourself collecting his wanted posters while he did the same, cutting them out of newspapers, storing them safely within his closet, though never out of reach from Shanks' comments.
"Hey big guy. What's with the cutouts? Don't tell me thats your secret wife or something. There's no way a woman that gorgeous would ever talk to you."
"Are you still a virgin? I ain't never seen you hook up with nobody on any of the islands we've docked at. Are you saving it for this woman~"
The day you crossed paths with him and the crew on your mission, Shanks thought he was going crazy. Poor guy saw you making out in the corner of the bar and the impact from his jaw hitting the ground probably created an earthquake. He never would've thought that Beckman was capable of love, let alone someone so different from him, so bright and gentle looking. He ran around the bar at least 10 times, double checking with the crew that his eyes weren't deceiving him, or that Lucky Roux hadn't poisoned him. But sure enough, you were one he gets those lovesick eyes for, the face that fills the holes in the newspapers.
After that, Shanks begged you to stay with them, knees and forehead bruised from begging (and probably some from Beckman's punches when Shanks exposed the foul mood he gets when he doesn't see your face in the paper). Despite his pleads, you had already spoken with Beckman and decided to continue living on your own, deciding that it was probably safer, though you exchanged numbers and promised to meet up every once in a while.
Spending your last few nights on the island together, you finally gathered the courage to ask the question that had been plaguing you since Shanks exposed Beckman. Wrapped tightly within his arms, you whispered, half asleep,
"do you really look for me in the paper?"
to which he replied,
"I look for you in the paper, and wish to the stars and the gods to keep you safe and for you to be in my arms once more. I love you so much that my crew has never seen a newspaper without holes".
"so you miss me then"
"Always and forever Darling."

Sakusa Kiyoomi
Already Yours (fluff)
Suna Rinatrō
Not the one (angst)
Already Yours Sakusa x reader (fluff, gender neutral)
It wasn't a shock to anyone when you started dating Sakusa. Nobody even knew you weren't dating in the first place.
It was a day like any other, the smell of ramen from the nearby shop wafting through the air, as your synchronised steps make their way to the park. Despite Sakusa's grumbles that the park was just as dirty as a public toilet seat, he always walked with you to the park, a wearing a faint smile that you were probably imagining, microscopic to the average person.
However, as the smell of petrichor mixed with with the warmth of the sun's rays peeking from behind the clouds, the silence was broken. Short, simple, direct.
"Date me".
Even though you looked like you were short circuiting on the outside, on the inside, your heart was leaping with joy, frolicking amongst the flowers blooming in your chest.
At first, it didn't really feel like much had changed. You already did things for each other that had you questioning if this even was a friendship in the first place. He would wait for you after your extracurriculars just like you would wait for him after volleyball practice and he would give you his jacket when you were cold (although he would ask for it back as soon as you got home saying he would wash it and give it to you again tomorrow). He also knew everything about you, making sure you woke up on time for school, picking up your favourite foods and drinks from the convenience store on his morning run so that you would have something to snack on while walking to school. But I suppose those things just came naturally after spending so much time with each other. Of course you would still respect his boundaries, making sure to stay clean and not get too close. What you didn't expect was how clingy he truly was.
The slight brush of the atoms between you whenever you were close, turned into him grabbing onto your hand on the way to and from school, random hugs from behind (only when no one is around - he can't be seen being so clingy. It would "give the wrong impression"), and cuddles while you hung out at each other's houses.
When you finally graduated and bought an apartment together, mornings always started with the smell of whatever delicious breakfast Sakusa was cooking, drifting under the crack of the door to the bedroom, waking you up. And, on the rare (not really so rare anymore) occasion Sakusa sleeps in, he's always curled up right behind you, face smushed so hard into the crook of your neck, you don't even know how he's breathing.
So, while it wasn't a shock to anyone else that you started dating, it was definitely a shock to you. Not because you didn't see it coming, but because it was so quiet, so natural, that by the time it had sunk it that you were dating the Sakusa Kiyoomi who you had been crushing on since primary, it already felt inevitable, like your souls were intertwined from the start.
