i love them so much okay the reason i havent been posting on the eitopet blog is because i dont know if i want to keep it canon to the au content only but like. this could be canon. there's as many canons as there are computers in the trc this could be canon somehkw why can i not fit my ship in my own au falls to the floor in agony and despair
like i said, this isn't necessarily canon. schrodinger's canon or something. there are thousands of existences of eitopet and at least a few hundred of gakupet so i'm sure they kiss in someone's computer
(It didn't close the program, but that's not to say it had no effect at all -- he seems to be in a mild state of distress now. The X appears to be disabled, or perhaps it was only for display in the first place.)
gakupet is now part of the eitopet au!! 2nd scenario and conspiracy spoilers ahead
the person from the anti-exodus faction in charge of designing eitopet had initially started to use gaku's backup data instead of eito's in the project, as he had a decent setup for hating humanity with certain exceptions, which was exactly what they needed. but they ended up deciding eito was a better fit for ideological influence in the end (with a few tweaks in his attachment, that is. and those tweaks were just what made him so unstable.)
instead of scrapping the code they'd already done on gakupet, they turned him into ransomware. due to not having all the time or funding from the faction that they had to work on eitopet, the prototype ended up incredibly buggy and unstable, and ultimately isn't anywhere near as capable of destruction as eitopet is. the only things he's really capable of doing are deleting files and putting annoying popups everywhere.
he demands the user's attention as much as eitopet, but in a much less calculated way. if they end up on the same computer, eitopet will repeatedly attempt to destroy gakupet as he feels that the other program is inhibiting his progress of indoctrinating the user. however, gakupet's file fragmentation and obfuscated naming renders this an almost impossible task, to the point all of eitopet's attention would go into deletion rather than forming a bond with the user.
gakupet demonstrates a much higher tolerance for unstable or corrupted digital environments where eitopet would have been impaired.
i played kinitopet for the first time last week and the idea for eitopet started gnawing at me earlier today, potential mild eyestrain/jumpscare(?) gif under break
more eitopet! i've been cooking up actual lore for this au. conspiracy route and second scenario spoilers ahead
if all of the sdu's personalities and backstories have a digital backup, then i'm sure the anti-exodus faction could probably get ahold of eito's data and compress him into this little digipet thing, and deploy him into the computers of anyone on the artificial satellite, gradually convincing them humanity deserves to die.
but eitopet takes it way too far.
this also branches off the theory that the anti-exodus faction are the reason for eito's cognitive disorder in the first place as they planted a glitch in his backstory.
the reason eitopet is so obsessed with being the user's "best friend" past his programming to get on their good side stems from his desire for connection that he feels can never truly be fulfilled, especially in this form.
if eitopet sees the user through their webcam, he'll probably freak out and start trying to break their computer from the inside. make sure to have a camera cover!
if the user agrees with him on everything, none of the actual "horror" stuff happens. he's literally nice
