okay separate from the original post i have so many more thoughts. i see a lot of fakemon design that leans very into a modern pokemon mindset of like. Strong Concept, Cohesive And Rational Design Elements, etc. but thats not all pokemon!! there are some wonderful very simple shapey early gen mons (gastly line, hoppip line) that inspired these guys. also, i like them changing type every evo (surskit line) and not having a very clear physical pathway for evolution. how does sapthling become godthed? idk man how does remoraid become octillery? nobody knows but it is a wonderful miracle i enjoy every day. i think napthling would be a primarily physical attacker with decent bulk ok speed and access to some strong special moves and some good doubles moves (pollen puff, wide guard, etc). it would be really fun in little cup i think. sapthlet would gain the most in speed and special attack, becoming a pretty good mixed attacker with some utility. if i wanted to be really mean id give it electroweb. i might. finally godthed would get massively increased bulk, making it a good and sticky support mon esp. with power spot. like god imagine literally any mon but stonjourner having power spot. wouldnt that be so wonderful. no offense to stonjourner you're cute but your spdef is a genuine fucking problem and im not ok with it. anyway it would get even more support moves like helping hand heal pulse ally switch (ew) and healing wish. planishing it would lower its speed but raise its spatk and teach it trick room (if it was inworld). i like to think theyd have like. situational use in vgc (like a regionals win once and nothing else) and be UU. thats always the power benchmark im looking for. god i love pokemon
