You can make a movie with where the only white character is a man named Ray Cism whose one line of his 16 seconds of screen time is “I seriously hate women and minorities.” and you’ll find fifty bajillion reader x Ray Cism fanfics and renaissance style drawings of him with a halo of golden light

Because people cannot inherit the trauma and culture of certain races, purely because they feel like it. Transracial is ignorance.

Transracial is the perfect example of ignorance, but I enjoy that it challenges the concept of “race”.

As for transracial, its a good example of ignorance because, despite how those people may genuinely enjoy the culture, there’s no way to go about “transitioning” to another race in a non cultural insensitive way. Furthermore, the person will never be able to become that race because being a certain race has far more layers than just skin color, features, and culture. The person will never be able to experience the genuine experience of growing up as that race nor understand the various nuances that history, society, and place of birth add.

I could go on, but its like 12am and I’m scared I sound like a bioessentialist terf (who i hate)

non-binary people are often treated as a third gender and are only “enjoyable” (idk the word im looking 4) if they’re fem/afab, i’ll avoid going into my thoughts on afab and amab being used for people under the trans umbrella. i’d also like to add more “deepness” and say, Telly has only been drawn more masculine compared to Mac, despite also being nonbinary, is because they’re black. black people aren’t given femininity in the same way white people are, a great example of this is how darker skinned black women are often depicted as being stronger or more meaner than women who are lighter than her

My hot (very cold) take as a occasional tumblr user is that I don’t agree with RCTA/Transracial despite being open to majority of things.

Maybe it’s because I’m black/a person of color, but seeing majority white people essentially try to claim they’re now a different race (usually Asian, Japanese, Chinese, or Korean from what I’ve seen on tt), or black people who are most likely experiencing every black person’s canon event (not wanting to be black), is so odd and gives me an icky feeling.

I understand that race is a social construct, however a lot of the time the person is js being racist by downing themselves in racial stereotypes. I also understand enjoying another culture heavily, but you can do that without wanting, or having to turn yourself, into the race that aligns yourself with that culture.
