kaelen-tyr:
The kids didn’t know what anything they said meant and were starting to bounce from foot to foot. He was distracted, briefly, by how much sand and seaweed they were about to track through the new house. The clerk remained quiet for a few moments before realizing that the brief exchange of words were it for Kaelen and Electra, so they pushed on with the bland script until the final question came.
“Do you…”
“I do.”
She was consciously aware of the childrens rapidly fading interest and knew that there would be just a few moments until they would give up and give into the chaos that was their nature, so when she heard the very last question she didn’t hesitate for perhaps the first time in her life when she looked at Kaelen.
“I do.” she began, barely giving the clerk time to respond. The clerk exhaled as they came to the end. “You may now kiss the bride.”
Which was exactly what Jett wasn’t expecting and Electra couldn’t help but laugh as he wrinkled his nose, “Ew, Dad no. Cooties.” but, she wasn’t listening. She merely grinned at Kaelen as she kissed him, “Look at us, all grown up.”
