i finished this one last night & it was a 4.8/5 for me! the first 100-150 pages were a little bit of a slog but i don’t necessarily mind it considering good fantasy has to have a good amount of world building!

the plot twist at the end of it went HARD. i love poppy and her tenacity. she is strong and resilient and brave - and a bit sheltered & naive but to no fault of her own ultimately.

my thoughts:

• like i said, plot twist??? i was sus about hawke for a good chunk of it and was correct with that feeling and also i’m intrigued

• rip to viktor - that had me weeping

• love when women can get revenge

• definitely some REALLY good spice without it outshining the plot
