âOkay but I have an entire layout and briefing to do for tomorrow because my clients and bosses set unreasonable deadlines,â Eliana began, sifting through some papers, âHow important is whatever you were about to say to me?â
lilyarmstrongsâ:
âSo they wouldnât notice if I did a few stand out patterns? I was thinking of something like this,â Lily spoke as she quickly flipped through her sample book before pointing to a pokadot pattern, âMaybe with some ruffled sleeves?âÂ
âIâm in,â Eliana said, grinning, âAs long as I donât flash anybody, I donât see what reason anyone would have to be against it. I mean, who wouldnât want their architect to be fashionable.â
alexandriarcsierâ:
As the words came from Alexandriaâs mouth she had regretted it; only because she had never admitted something like that to anyone. She was used to closing herself off to others, it felt safer that way. And yet, Alexandria found herself opening up more to Eliana and feeling more comfortable with her. It was slowly becoming the new normal. âI wasnât sure if I wanted it either,â Alexandria admitted, âBut⌠itâs been nice. I donât think it was your fault. You didnât know what had happened or where we had gone.â But, she couldnât help herself. âYou didnât know, right?âÂ
âI didnât,â Eliana said, âI mean, I assumed you were where we left you and then I found out you werenât and I tried looking further into but dad found out and he was... well, he was dad,â She paused, âI was too scared to properly try again until I found you this time,â She paused, âSometimes I do wish Iâd stayed with you and mom. Do you ever wonder how different things would have been if I had?â
alexandriarcsierâ:
âIâm sure it wouldnât be too hard to persuade them. Youâre the best of them all, why wouldnât they want you to represent them? I wouldnât worry too much about trying to get new clientele. Iâll be your first business reference. Iâm sure one from a cop to a lawyer would be helpful,â She spoke. She was glad that Eliana had the same feeling about their relationship as Alex did- she never let herself be vulnerable to others and was thankful it wasnât something that would bite her later. After a moment, Alexandria spoke again. âIâm glad youâre here. I donât think Iâve said it, but⌠itâs nice having you back.âÂ
Eliana smiled brightly, âIâm glad to have you back too,â She said, âTo be honest, I was worried you wouldnât want me back in your life,â She admitted, âI mean I wouldnât blame you with me being gone for so long and everything that happened.â
lilyarmstrongsâ:
âSo lots of flexibility, then?â Lily asked, âThatâs good! I love when companies are relax about their dress codes. I had someone come in the other week, and their dress code was more like a uniform- which is fine, but it makes it a bit harder for me to make something they like and follows all the rules.â Lily spoke, her tone naturally quick. It was hard for her to stop talking once she started, âAre there any patterns you like? I think one with a deep maroon would be cute for you!âÂ
âI mean if weâre being honest, my company is based in New York and Iâm here. So as long as I look impressive and professional, theyâre not gonna care what I wear,â Her eyes brightened, âMaroon. I love it. Absolutely compliments my skin tone. I knew I came to the right person.â
jayruzekâ:
Jay let out a groan. âFuck me,â he complained.
âAlright, no need for foul language,â Eliana said, âDo you need help looking? Iâm free for a bit.â
lilyarmstrongsâ:
If Lily had tried to hide the large smile over her face, it wouldnât have worked so well. It was one of her favourite things to be able to design things from scratch. âAmazing! Do you have a dress code I need to follow?âÂ
âThe dress code is smart and sensible. Nothing too revealing but I still want to look good of course.â
alexandriarcsierâ:
A few weeks ago Alexandria wouldnât have thought that she would be willingly offering to someone to stay there longer, and yet the idea of her sister staying longer filled her with joy. It wasnât like Alex to stay in one spot for too long and still, she was thinking about it. âCould you take clients? Or is that just⌠something in the movies?âÂ
âLegally I canât bring them with me but if it was within their contract or they have really good lawyers then they can, they can chose to come with me. But I can also find new ones. I pride myself on my good relationship-building skills... at least in the business world,â Eliana said, âAnd our new relationship is important to me too so I would really like to stay here.â
rileyxwalkcrâ:
âWell itâs not like Iâm hiding Monopoly in my jacket, Iâm sort of limited on what to suggest.â Riley commented, looking to the other when she mentioned names. âRiley- my name is Riley. And yours?â
âHey I donât know you, you could,â Eliana said with a laugh and a shrug, âIâm Eliana. People call me Eli though so feel free to.â
alexandriarcsierâ:
Despite herself, Alexandria started to smile at her sisters words, âItâs still good,â She replied, pride rising through her. âYou get to make a difference in the world every day by doing that.â It didnât really surprise Alex that they were so different- Alex wouldnât do work for nothing. Sometimes Alex thought the world owed her a bit more. âHow long would that take you? MaybeâŚâ She paused, âYou could open something here?âÂ
Eliana grinned, âI could do that,â She said happily, âTechnically I could do it whenever I wanted. I have the money. Itâs more about building a reputation and client relationships first,â She paused, âI think Iâd really like to open something here.â
lilyarmstrongsâ:
âDo you know what kind of style youâre after?â Lilian asked, her head tilting slightly as she looked at the other. âHow about we start with colours? Work our way up from there- some of those designs donât work with all colours.â She then said, her nose scrunching as she talked.Â
âI just need new clothes for work. I trust you completely with the rest of it.â
jayruzekâ:
âI work at HQ, and itâs never happened to me before.â
âThat definitely sounds like something you should be worried about then.â
jayruzekâ:
âShould it be suspicious that Iâm missing a page in this file that I got?â
âGenerally that sounds like something thatâs bad but I donât know where you work or what you do or how common that is.â
sloanescarlisleâ:
âI like that second suggestion.â
âOff you go then.â
alexandriarcsierâ:
Alexandria regretted the strong stance she had taken against Eliana doing pro-bono. She didnât want Eliana to be making no money with all the hard work she had been doing. âItâs good that the company lets you do things like that. Are most of your cases like that?âÂ
âIt had nothing to do with letting. They wanted me and I wouldnât join the company unless it was in my contract. I wanted to do it and it looks good for them,â Eliana explained and then shook her head, âNot most unfortunately, but a number of them. Iâd like to open my own firm one day and do more work like that but until then, hereâs where Iâm at.â
rileyxwalkcrâ:
đ - our muses get stuck in an elevator together // @elianarcsierâ
âIâd suggest a game of eye spy or something while we wait, but something tells me that would get real boring, real fast.â Riley commented, breaking the silence that had been filtering through the broken down elevator for the past ten minutes.
Eliana stifled a laugh, âOf all the games, thatâs the one you choose?â She asked, âHow about we start with names? You havenât told me yours yet.â
rubyxtalbotâ:
âWell I know all about that part, never let her out of my sight. Youâre right, I hope that I can make something quickly before getting something more permanent made.â
âAre you saying you donât have somewhere to store it?â
