“Of course, you’re welcome I was happy to help. I’d be doing you a disservice if I didn’t help you find the right shoe for the right occasion.” he said with a bright smile. “You may need a detailed list if you go shoe shopping again and I’m not around to help.”
She grinned at him, momentarily distracted from her troubles by his kindness. “I don’t know if I ever want to go shopping again without you. You’ve revolutionized my shopping experience.”
teddy-antonov.
It wasn’t that often Teddy heard words of support coming from someone close to him. Someone affirming that he wasn’t complete shit at being a friend and he needed to hear it, his earlier encounter with Lucinda still fresh in his mind. “Yeah, well,” he grinned and knocked shoulders with her, “one of us has to be, right? And fuck yeah–– what kinda pizza are we talking about? Could order cheesecake too–– get all of our dairy quota for the week in one night.”
She smiled softly, feeling better from his company. “Cheese pizza. I mean it’s basic but it’s a classic. It’s reliable.” This was what she needed. She didn’t need a huge gesture, but rather, a sense of normalcy. “Absolutely. A cheesecake would make the night. We might as well go all out.”
cj-rhodes.
CJ sighed. “Are you serious?” Not just for in this exact moment, but for the long term. The eldest Rhodes didn’t waste time and if the witch wasn’t going to put in full effort beyond a session, CJ wouldn’t bother and she knew her expression said as much.
“I don’t think I’ve ever been more serious about anything ever before.” This was said quietly but with confidence. She was nervous, but Elise had made up her mind that this was what she needed. “Is that a yes?”
cj-rhodes.
“Maybe one of my siblings would be better suited to helping you train,” CJ mused, glancing at the young witch. People preferred working with them usually– CJ wasn’t exactly approachable. But the fact that the younger woman had approach her didn’t go unnoticed by the hunter.
“You look like you’d be an amazing teacher. You’re the perfect amount of strong and intimidating. Please?” She could’ve easily asked another one of the Rhodes siblings, but now that she asked CJ, she really only wanted CJ to help her.

“I can’t say i have any complaints about it” Delphine replied, giving her company a smile. “ Well would it make you sad to get them? Would it hurt anyone to treat yourself?”
“You’re very fortunate in that regard.” She returned Delphine’s smile. She didn’t want her mood to ruin anyone else’s day. “I don’t know. Probably not. I think I’d look really good wearing them actually.”

“Not care,” he repeated the words with a sudden shake of his head, an undignified scoff parting his lips ever so slightly. In the years since becoming a part of his coven, Ares had always cared about how he looked, to himself and those around him. Appearances were everything to a man like him, and he couldn’t ever fathom it not being the same for others. “Why ever would you want to be basic or boring?” He questioned out of sheer curiosity, wondering how or why anyone could ever want to be.
“I don’t want my life to be defined by fashion. I’m trying to find new interests.” It was the best explanation she could offer. Elise couldn’t explain that she got into fashion for her sister, but now felt guilty that she could still enjoy it while her sister couldn’t — at least not to a stranger. “It’s harder than I thought it would be.”
sloanrivera.
“Not complacent, no… But comfortable. Too comfortable. And it cost me dearly in the end.” It was a level of honesty not typically achieved by Sloan Rivera, but she granted it to this girl. “I wouldn’t say that, the only person capable of doing so is you.”
“Really? How?” It didn’t occur to Elise that she might be prying into the other woman’s life. The questions were asked with a friendly, interested manner. “Yeah, but you gave me the advice which is basically the same as changing my life.”

Rayn nodded her head at the other woman’s decision. It wasn’t right but she wasn’t going to be rude about it. She always approached everything with kindness. “ Go ahead and try to do that and I’ll walk you through why that may or may not work”
“Okay.” She’d taken a kickboxing class once, and remembered how to stand and make a fist, but that was the extent of her knowledge. She adjusted her stance, made a fist, and swung.

Kaia leaned forward not wanting the chocolate to drip from her strawberry on her way to her mouth, “Damn, what is it about melted chocolate that always tastes so good.” As she spoke she held her hand over her mouth, chewing whilst talking. She may be the type of person to talk whilst eating, but Kaia at least had the common courtesy to hide the food in her mouth behind her hand. “Honestly, I would go to a lot more of the events and parties I’m invited too if the invitation said chocolate fondue on them.”
“I think it seems fancier when it’s melted. That’s my theory anyway.” Strawberries dipped in chocolate had always been one of her favorite snacks. For her tenth birthday, her parents had actually gotten her a chocolate fountain. “You should throw your own party. A melted chocolate party.”

“I guess you’re not going to make that mistake again anytime soon, are you? Or at least not without some mesh or something on your window. At least your aunt took it out and it was rabid? They’re already annoying fuckers but rabid ones are no joke–– would tear your eyes out but not before giving you rabies. I avoid them when I’m running in Central Park. They like to scavenge until the sun comes up.” And Percy had decided prior to arriving that this version of himself went for runs in Central Park just before the sun came up.
“You’d think I would’ve learned my lesson. I might’ve done it a few more times. My aunt did put mesh on the window after the third time. I don’t know if it was rabid. I never asked.” She winced at the image he described. “That’s literally terrifying. You need to be careful out there. That’s so dangerous.”

“Oh but the are right. My intentions are to usually take what isn’t nailed down. And even then, I may ave a screwdriver” She chuckled before taking the mirror and trying to remind herself not to steal it in the process. She cleaned the smudge before handing it back. “Thank you”
“What? Why? That’s illegal!” She was shocked Ramsey just admitted to that. She took her mirror back, her expression skeptical. “You’re welcome.”

“Surely they’ll be perfect for various casual spring looks,” Beth shrugged after a nimble assessment, “Though perhaps it’s time to forgo them for the winter, seeing as the slush and snow will make them grey tennis shoes before you know it.”
She nodded her head, accepting them as a staple for spring. “That never even crossed my mind.” It was rare she looked at the weather. If she had an outfit in mind, she wore it and hoped it was appropriate. “They keep my feet surprisingly warm for a pair of regular shoes that is.”

“Well,” Teddy puffed out his cheeks, dropping beside Elise on the couch, “looks like you’ve got a lot of shit to shovel, El,” he said, not unkindy though as he nudged her shoulder. “Good thing is, you’ve got me to help shovel it,” not the most reassuring thing, he knew, “and we don’t have to fucking start shoveling until you want to.” He handed her the remote, “which means we can both ignore our problems until they eat us alive, sound good? Can even get fucking take-out to top it all off.” It wasn’t great as far as pep-talks went but at least it wasn’t him bullshitting her; he’d meant every word.
She hugged her knees to her chest. She was trying hard not to cry. Elise knew Teddy was doing his best at being there for her, but she tried hard not to think about it too much. She’d forgotten just how painful the memories were. She finally looked up at him and smiled weakly. “You’re a really good, supportive friend, Ted. Don’t let anyone make you think otherwise.” His support did make her feel better. It was freeing to know he was there to listen but he wouldn’t push her to talk about it. “I think that sounds like a fantastic idea. Can we get pizza? Pizza makes everything better and we might as well go all out.” She began flipping through the channels.

“That is fair. Maybe get a few skills first before you walk in there. “Rayn nodded. She held her hands up in a starting positions towards Elise. “Okay so first thing’s first how would you get past me right now to get a hit in?”
“Exactly.” It didn’t take long for her to regret her decision to learn how to fight. “Um. Would I just swing at you?” It was her best guess.
