David came into the kitchen, enjoying the silence of their home. It was a rare occasion for the two of them to have a night that was kid free and they were able to have a date night. It was funny to look back at the difference the years had made as far of their date nights were concerned. When they had first met and begun to test the waters together, it tended to be a group of mates out at a pub together. As the years separated them and they began to raise their respective families, he hadn’t even considered that they might cross paths again.
Dating with all their kids, trying to blend the craziness and love into a new family had been hard at first with the attitudes and feelings of the kids needing to be taken into account when they planned anything but now, five years on, things were much smoother and they had managed to find a routine. Date night mainly consisted of nights in, quiet and like the pair of homebodies they were now. Her question brought him back to the present and he smiled at her. “The pool sounds like it could be fun. Besides, its been a very long time since we had the chance to go skinny dipping under the stars” he said quietly as he came over and wrapped her in his arms, leaning down to kiss her lips.
She place the plates down on the table and they went ignored the moment David cane over to her the feeling of his arms around her an all too familiar comfort that never faded in its ability to make her surroundings disappear and it to feel like they were the only thing in existence for that moment. Billie placed her hands on his chest leaning into the kiss a smile tugging against the corner of her lips as she did. After a moment she let one hand travel to the side of his neck her thumb brushing on his jawline as she pulled away.
"Now that's a nice was to start the evening" she smiled as she look up at him her height difference to him ever apparent when she wasn't wearing shoes she kept to her tip toes as she looked at him. "I think having a skinny dip sound like the absolute perfect way to spend the night especially when we can't do anything like that when we're not alone in this house" she smiled playing with the fabric of his shirt under her hand still placed on his chest. "The question is do we ear dinner first or head to the pool now and just heat it up later" she let her bottom lip slip between her teeth as she tilted her head a truly mischievous look gracing her features
