lost

Just over a year ago, my family and I made the decision to relocate from Massachusetts to Connecticut. The main reason for the move was that my representative payee, who handles my financial matters, was located in Connecticut. Initially, we didn't intend to move so far south, but it seemed like the practical choice at the time.

Unfortunately, since we moved, there have been ongoing conflicts between my sister, the payee, and our landlord. These disputes have made it incredibly challenging for me to live a peaceful life with my three children. We long for a sense of normalcy and stability, but our current living situation is far from ideal. The house we reside in does not meet safety standards, with windows that lack proper protection. They are so fragile that they break with even the slightest touch or when opening them.

With the approaching winter, I am deeply concerned about our ability to endure another season in this inadequate dwelling. Financially, it's becoming increasingly difficult for me to afford to stay here. To compound matters, there is an ongoing legal issue that has been troubling me for the past year. It's frustrating to find myself entangled in such messy situations. I reflect on a time when I worked three jobs and owned two cars, realizing how I allowed others to disrupt and dismantle the world I had built for myself.

Regrettably, my last connection to the outside world, someone who provided support and companionship, is also moving away this month, leaving me feeling even more isolated. I implore you, please learn from my experiences and avoid allowing yourself to fall into similar traps. If you have something to lose, exercise caution and trust your instincts. I have lost a great deal throughout this journey, and staying here for another year would only result in further financial loss.
