Hello! Elite Beauty here! I love writing about my favorite television shows and books, geeking out on the latest technology and superheroes, and talking about fashion. Hope something interests you on this blog! Feel free to message me about stuff! :)

Again, super delayed response...but here it is! :) I was tagged by @a-v-e-z-a (thank you for tagging me by the way, and sorry for the delay!)

Where do you publish your work?
FanFiction.net is actually the only place I publish my work now that I think about it. It’s so weird to think about, but I think I’ve actually had it for like seven years now, which is crazy. I’ve actually looked and browsed myself on different problems, AO3 being one of them, but FanFiction.net is the only one that’s really prompted me to publish on it. I think it’s maybe because of the organization of the whole website? And how nice it is to post on there (once I actually get around to posting of course). But yeah, that’s where I publish my work. And my laptop. If that counts. :)
What medium/application/etc. do you write in or with?
Mainly Microsoft Word, as it does have all the tools I need to write. I did use pen and paper when I was younger and didn’t have much access to a laptop (there are actually pages and pages of stories but we’ll bench that part for now lol), but now I just use Microsoft Word.
Do you collaborate with others?
Not really. Mainly because collaboration would involve collaboration of schedules too and that’s probably not going to happen anytime soon haha. But I did ask @a-v-e-z-a‘s permission to use her OC, Hana (which is great by the way) in some of my stories, though I don’t actually think I’ve incorporated her into my FanFiction stories yet (I do have her in a story on my laptop that’s yet to be published).
How much editing do you do before you publish?
If I’m being completely honest...not much. Mainly because when I do have the motivation to write and post a chapter, it’s actually a short burst of time and energy, so I try to post it as soon as I can. Otherwise, I’m too critical of it, and would probably never post anything if I keep going over and over it again. I switch between perfectionist and a just ‘need to get this done’ persona. So I usually write, get out everything on the document (in a mainly cohesive and grammatically correct way), and then I upload it into the document manager on FanFiction.net. Then, before I actually post it, I go and revise that version. Usually, I hit all the main plot points I wanted to hit, and it’s just grammatical consistency at that point. After doing that (which enables me to re-read it), I’ll post it to FanFiction.net.
Do you listen to music when you write?
Not really, either. It’s kind of distracting, I think I do it sometimes (if I need inspiration or just need something in the background to keep me going). Actually, I kind of have the television on when I’m writing (not sure if others do too, but yeah).
How do you decide what to write about?
Ahhh...this one is a complicated question, I must say. My first fandom fandom (if that makes sense) was Digimon, and it was the only thing I felt compelled to write about at the time. Since then, I’ve been somewhat picky on what to write on, since I don’t feel I do those characters justice (and Digimon’s mostly the only fandom I actually read on FanFiction.net, I sometimes read Percy Jackson too, but I digress). I actually have written like a crossover thing between Digimon, Percy Jackson, and X-Men and I may have actually went ahead and posted a couple chapters of it, but that’s about it. If I feel like I have a good plot, and a good grasp of the characterization of the characters, I’ll probably write about it. (Usually that’s only once I’ve read some great characterizations myself first - it actually took me awhile to get to fanfiction writing).
I also have made my own OC’s for Digimon but haven’t written about them because (1) there are too many and (2) I feel like I haven’t fleshed them out enough. Maybe I’ll post something about them someday, or if anyone’s interested in knowing, let me know and we can discuss my OC’s. :)
When do you write?
There’s not a set date and time when I write actually. It’s usually just whenever I have free time (and actually even when I do have free time, writing is something I choose not to do, unfortunately). But yeah, when I have time, and I choose to write due to a burst of inspiration or energy and wanting to post a new chapter, or to write about an idea that came up.
Do you take requests?
I actually haven’t, though I’d like to. It might actually help me in being more creative and getting the writing energy going. I may actually post a separate request for that soon. Though it’s tricky because I’d only write about specific couplings (unless there are no couplings, then I’m all good to go, then!)
Is there any genre or type of story you want to write but are hesitant to?
Hmm...not really (again) - I’ve said that a lot in this post haha. The stories I’ve written are within the realm I’ve wanted to write, and haven’t really been hesitant on writing them. Mostly drama, romance, comedy, and action/adventure is what I write about, but I would like to get a lot better at writing action/adventure scenes. And romance scenes. I find that they’re always difficult to write in some way, shape, or form. Hard to nail without it getting too cliche or too boring to read.
Any inspirational quotes, videos, tricks, articles, etc. that help you stay motivated?
Inspiration from fellow writers for sure! An actual example of any of those doesn’t come to mind for now. But if I think of any, I’ll definitely post them!
And now, I’ll tag anyone other writers out there who would like to put their own two cents in!
With Digimon withdrawal starting to set in as we wait until February for Loss what are some digimon fanfics (aside from your own wonderful work which everyone of course should have read by now) that you'd recommend to fans to help tide them over?
Ahhh thank you for your sweet plug! If anyone wants to check out my fanfiction, you can read it here!
Now, I’m embarrassed to say that I write way more fanfiction than I read, so I don’t have too many personal recommendations. However, I love @a-v-e-z-a‘s work, which you can read here. My favorite story of hers is Plus One, and it inspired Seeking Resonance. She indulgently allowed me to place it in roughly the same world.
I’ve read some of @fizzingwizard‘s drabbles, and they’re great! I really need to sit down and read her fanfics, but you can beat me to it here.
If you’re a Daiken fan, you need to check out @gouguruheddo‘s work here!
And I enjoyed these two sweet stories about the Chosen adopting puppies (Takeru and Koushiro) that I link in this post.
Oh and here’s the complete collection from the 2016 Digimon Bang! I’ve seen the art and summaries, and they look fantastic!
Thanks for the ask <3 Happy reading! If you read any of them, tell me what you think!
And to keep these fanfic recs going ‘round, I’d add the works of @elitexbeauty and @blueberrrykissses (particularly if you are fond of Koumi and Sorato, respectively. Also, their fanfiction.net names are the same as their tumblrs, in case anybody wanted to peruse).
Secret Santa gift for @ryuusei-ryka!! It’s just a little Koumi comic where they just text each other throughout the day before tri (the last panel w/ Mimi was supposed to be her looking at a plane but I couldn’t make it work). I hope you like it!!
I was talking Digiships with my friend and the popularity of Mimato/Koumi/Jyoumi and how people justify these ships as as Mimi always being able to help the guys with their issues but it's never really the other way around... Koumi is my favorite ship but I was just wondering how you justify it as being a give and take on both sides instead of just a one-way street of Mimi helping Koushiro out of his shell?
Based off Mimi’s personality I can definitely see how she could help Yamato/Koushiro/Jyou (aka too cool/too awkward/too stressed) have fun and live a little. I’m actually a believer of the Mimi harem, but I’ll just keep it to Mimi x Koushiro.
Mimi is a free spirit. She speaks and acts what most likely first comes to mind. This makes her fun and exciting, but this probably makes her life look a little all over the place. This is where I believe Koushiro would compliment her so well.
Koushiro at such a young age is already achieving great success. He appears to manage school, work, and home without looking like his life is a mess. He could help Mimi create systems, plan, and prioritize. He’d be able to bring more organization into her life while helping her focus on what’s important. This would be a big deal for any goals Mimi has for herself in school, work, or her personal life.
Aside from this, Koushiro’s reasoning is very sound. He takes many things into consideration before proceeding. This could be very helpful to Mimi, who often acts on impulse. Sure, Koushiro doesn’t always understand emotions well, but he can still help her understand her own and why she feels the way she does.
I guess you could say Mimi is looking at the trees and Koushiro could help her to see the forest.
This is all I can say off the top of my head, but if I think of more I will try to post them. If anyone has their own koumi headcanons and theories I would really love to hear them too :) Share with me please T_T
PS. Happy Holidays Anon! Sorry if this was late. Cheers to you and 2016!
A great insight into the Koumi relationship. It’s an important factor to look at when comparing this with other ones - it’s part of what makes Koumi great!
Yes, you. You, with the pen in hand, the laptop atop your lap. You, with the scribbles and the scrawls. You with the tappity-taps and clickity-clicks. You, with the eraser marks. You, with the red and green squiggles. You, who knows a piece of written paper equals a little more than half a typed page. You, who knows 50,000 words is about 100 regular pages. You, who doesn’t know how to spell a word because you’ve only heard it spoken, but never seen it written. You, who stuffed your work in the attic drawer. You, who saved your story inside a chain of files so nobody would read it by accident.
It's disconcerting to find that we aren't as close as we used to be. Things were never the same after the fallout. But as the Shadow King dawns on the horizon, we need to deal with the repercussions of our actions. We need to pick up the pieces and start all over. Otherwise, surrender is inevitable and both worlds will cease to exist.
Hey everybody!
In celebration of Digimon Tri, I’ve posted a new chapter of Popular Dissent on Fanfiction.net. I hope you guys can read it and if you do, like it! Let me know what you think!
Tri has propelled me to actually start writing again, which feels great as a writer since I haven’t been able to write much lately. Speaking of tri, I have a lot of thoughts about it but I probably won’t post put it in here. I may post it in a separate one. But if you want to discuss all things Digimon or about Tri, ask me! I’ve wanted to have a great discussion about it.
Hopefully, I can finish another chapter of this soon. There are other fanfics I have - Apocalyptic Quest - that I would very much like to update, so we’ll see how that goes. If you have any ideas, let me know!
Anywho, I’m rambling now. Thank you to those for reading this!
