Hey so if you have the time and feel comfortable writting this could use please write about a Mc who is from the U.S and has really racist hateful parents? The RFA+V (or seven if you don't have the time) is meeting her parents for the first time and they not only say very terrible things to them but also mc. Thank you very much 💖
Trigger Warning for racism and homophobia
He’s very nervous about meeting MC’s parents
He goes way extra to appear as a good match for their daughter
Brings homemade omurice and a bottle of wine
However, Yoosung doesn’t get a heartfelt welcome
MC’s parents are basically glaring at him
“MC, you didn’t warn us about.. you know, his.. ethnical background” - the mom whispers angrily
The father is more openly hostile
“No daughter of mine will date a kimchi-eating gook”
*Pissed off Yoosung mode on*
“I’ll have you know that race doesn’t have to do anything with qualities of a person. You would be aware of that if you weren’t stuck in the last century. Good day to you.”
Yoosung feels bad about the whole situation because it upset MC
But his pride is too hurt
"MC, I’m sorry about how it turned out.
-"Guess we won’t be having any family dinners anytime soon, huh?”
-“It’s alright. I’ll cook you all the dinners you want. I can be your family.”
The atmosphere at the dining table is very tense and Hyun can’t quite grasp why
Certainly not the reaction that he expected
He’s being his usual charming self, what’s the matter?
Hoping to break the tension, Zen suggests MC’s father to go for a smoke
“Great, on top of that he’s a smoker” - MC’s mom hisses through teeth
Zen is puzzled. On top of what??
“Mom, please.. I asked you both to be considerate. At least this once” - you can hear desperation in MC’s voice
“listen here, pal. You might be popular in Korea but I don’t want my daughter to go out with a makeup wearing excuse of a man. Did you get plastic surgery? Nevertheless, no amount of it could hide your belonging to an inferior race. All those Koreans getting plastic surgery to look like Europeans, like that could..“
Hyun is at the loss for words, a rare occurrence
-"Dad, it seems you’ve had too much to drink” - MC snapped shortly.
“I genuinely thought you could accept my choice. Maybe someday you’ll realize that people shouldn’t be judged on the factors they can’t control. For now we’d better go. C'mon, Zenny”
Instead of being angry, Zen gets sad
“I wanted to make a good impression but that seemed impossible, Jagiya.”
“Don’t get upset about it, Zen. Sometimes you have different values from your family, you shouldn know that better than anyone. How stupid of me to think that they would change their mindset for me”
“It’s okay, Princess. You can’t choose your family”
When MC’s parents first met her, they were reserved but not openly hostile
That is until they learned that Jaehee wasn’t just a friend
In fact, she was much more than a friend
The father was more angry about the fact that his daughter was dating a Korean while the mother was so upset her daughter was gay that the nationality of her partner didn’t bother her as much
Jaehee thought she might have to deal with this kind of reaction but not to this extent
Suppressing the urge to demonstrate her judo skills, she calmly explained that MC’s choice of significant other doesn’t have to depend on her parents’ conservative views
MC’s blood is practically boiling at this point
"Mom, Dad, listen. Jaehee is the most amazing person ive ever met, she’s beautiful, kind, smart, hard-working, and basically just perfect overall. And you disregard her solely based on the fact that she is of different ethnicity and the same gender as me without even getting to know her? I’m ashamed of you both right now.
"MC, you can’t choose your family. I’m sorry that they couldn’t accept me”
“They might come to their senses. Im their only daughter, after all. But if they can’t overcome their principles for me, then maybe I don’t need such family.”
Meeting one’s parents is a very important ordeal
So he plans everything meticulously in advance so that the meeting would go smoothly
He wasn’t nervous at all and he totally didn’t expect to hear nasty remarks about his nationality
Now, for him it’s quite a bit of a shock
Usually making a good impression comes easy for him
Moreover, family is his most important value in life
Manages to quickly regain his composure but internally he’s panicking
MC’s parents’ opinion doesn’t really bother him but what if MC wouldn’t want to date him anymore because of that?
Luckily for Jumin, MC stands up for him and they’re out of there before he can realize what has happened
“It didn’t quite go according to plan. I hope I will still get the chance to prove to your parents that I am worthy of you.”
“You don’t have to prove anything to anyone. I want to be with you, and if my parents can’t deal with it, well, that’s their problem”
He didn’t exactly expect a warm welcome
Although he assumed the reason would be his job or his sense of humour
But definitely not his ethnicity
Doesn’t know how to react
Not that he was hoping to acquire proper family that he never had
But he thought he’d be accepted, albeit perhaps reluctantly
MC is mad beyond belief at her parents
“So what if he’s not white? He’s smart, funny, caring and I love him! Is it really that hard for you to accept?”
“I’m not exactly a parents’ favourite, - Seven joked darkly after they left.
“Saeyoung.. Don’t mind them, please. You know how much you mean to me. Luckily we’re both adults, and my parents’ opinion doesn’t matter. I love you, Saeyoung, - she looked deep into his eyes, - and nothing is going to change this”.
“Our daughter going out with some foreign photographer! He doesn’t even have a proper job!”
Even though MC’s parents excused themselves into another room, the mother’s voice could be heard clearly
Juhyun’s unconventional hair color didn’t help either
“All those artistic types are the same, fickle airheads” - MC’s father murmured, - and this hair! At his age he should have grown out of such wild experiments!”
-”Ahem, pardon me, but it’s my natural color.”
-” I can assure you that my love for MC knows no boundaries. She’s the light of my life. And I’m the luckiest man alive because she reciprocates my feelings. You can hold any opinion about me, but would your conscience still be clear if your beliefs impeded your daughter’s happiness?”
-”I…er…I suppose.. Guess there’s nothing we can do about this. But if you ever hurt her, you won’t get out of this alive, ya hear me, dog-eater?”
“Dad, for Christ’s sake!! No slurs, clear?”
“Well, it went better than I expected, honey. Hope our relationship with your parents will improve from now on”
“Well, it certainly can’t get any worse, so yeah, it can only go for the better” - MC smiled, giving V a kiss.
