Amos smiled softly. “Thanks, Elizabeth, that’s very sweet of you,” he told her.

“Well I may not play quidditch but you guys are my house team,” she replied, a warm smile on her lips.

“I think sitting by the lake is one of my favorites.”

“Mm, it can be really nice out by the lake,” Elizabeth agreed with a smile, “Especially in sunny weather like this.”

“I’m just looking forward to summer.”

“Me too. It will be nice to see all our families again,” she said with a smile.

“… I’m just trying to help you know, you don’t have to be so rude.”

“Oh no, I’m so sorry, I really wasn’t trying to be rude,” Elizabeth said, a blush covering her face, instantly feeling terrible. “Really, I wasn’t at all, I just- Well I don’t need any help so I was just saying that, I’m really sorry if it was rude, I really didn’t mean it.”

“Exams right.” He wrote shaking his head. “I’ve got lots of other studying to do. I know what you mean.. I’ve been in the company of quite a few hufflepuff more than anyone else really.. great company.” He set down his book fidgeting thinking back to the person that made his heart ache from missing him but shook his head smiling as he raised his hands. “It’s incredible right? A place like that is huge massive really and yet it can feel so small.” He signed and paused his hands realizing she may not even know sign “Would you like to help each other?” He wrote smiling.

“Well I like to think we’re good company,” she joked with a small laugh, smiling over at him. She frowned slightly when he went quiet, “Is everything okay?” she asked before he looked up with a smile once more. “I don’t-” she started, about to say she didn’t understand when he started to write again. “Um, sure,” Elizabeth said, smiling slightly. She had no clue what he was talking about but she was always happy to help others.

“I’m glad, too. I hope we win this year!”

“I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you,” she said with a smile, holding up her crossed fingers as proof.

“Definitely,” she agreed with a nod.

Dawn giggles and nods. “Yeah,” she said.

“What about you? Are there any spots out here that you love?” she asked with a smile.

“I hope so! I’m sure we will. Quidditch is going great.”

“That’s so good, I’m so glad for you guys!” Elizabeth said with a smile. While quidditch had never really been her thing, she was happy for her housemates to hear it was a success so far.

“It’s something to sit at temporarily until you get your spot.”

“Yeah it is,” she agreed with a smile. “And it’s got the same view so I can’t really complain about it.”

It was nice to see Elizabeth again, she was brilliant company and didn’t mind his tutoring. However much reading she had to do. He felt bad about it but she didn’t seem at least to him to mind. Her smile and nature took his mind off his worries. He nodded smiling back and moved his things aside. “It’s nice to see you again.” He scribbled after pulling out his pen. It was buried in his bag.

“It’s been a while, i wasn’t going to come out here but helps sometimes I think. Perspective and fresh air.” He scribbled onto a new page. “Things have been a bit busy lately.” He wrote shrugging.

“You too,” she replied with a smile, taking a seat next to him, and tucking her legs under herself. “I know, I feel like I’ve barely seen anyone outside of Hufflepuff recently because everyone’s been so busy with exams and homework and everything.” She smiled again, nodding as she read his words, “Same. I was feeling so stuffy up in that castle, I needed some fresh air for a while.”

“Yeah, no kidding,” Nolan replied with a chuckle.

“At least we’ll soon have weeks with absolutely no homework to do everyday,” she said with a smile.

“Maybe but you found it and now they can be reunited.” A smile lined Amalia’s lips at that thought and she made sure not to drop the other shoe as she made her way over towards Elizabeth. Staying quiet as she listened to the story of Cinderella, Amalia’s smile disappeared for a moment thought it was quick to return once Elizabeth was done speaking. “well, I think it could be pretty romantic even if I’m not incredibly well versed in muggle fair-tales. I mean, how exactly do we know that this is my shoe? It might look like my other shoe but it could be a coincidence.” A part of Amalia knew she was being slightly ridiculous but a larger part of her pressed forward with promises that this would all pay off in some way. “Should we test it?”

“I’m so happy for them,” Elizabeth said with a smile, about the shoes that would soon be reunited. She wasn’t totally sure why she was suddenly so invested in the happiness of inanimate objects, but she was. She laughed when Amalia said they didn’t know for sure that it was her shoe, but nodded in agreement. “You’re right, we better be sure it’s your shoe before we take it.” She smiled, trying not to laugh again as she knelt down on the grass. She held out the shoe in two hands, looking up at Amalia, “Let’s see if it fits. Are you really Cinderella?”
