On YouTube and my absence
I know yāall will be understanding about this because we all get busy with school and work, and our hobbies and passions can fall to the side because of it.Ā
Iāve been trying very hard to record videos and make things to upload to YouTube, but I am in this FUNK. Itās because of work-- I have two part-time jobs, one of which is my familyās business which takes not only a lot of time but a LOT of energy. At the end of the day, I just want to go home, eat, and watch a couple of episodes of Charmed before I go to sleep.Ā
I would love to come home and record, edit, and be happy with the video enough to upload it. But thatās not happening right now. Iād rather give you something good and something that is fun, rather than giving you something I struggled to make and still am not happy with. Itās hard on me, but Iām trying not to give myself too much of a hard time because this is just a part of life.Ā
Iāve contemplatedĀ āretiringā from booktube/youtube, but I donāt think that will ever happen. I know that some day or another, Iāll have the energy to put up content Iām proud of. Iām not sure if that means making videos on other topics or just keeping things on an even more relaxedĀ āupload scheduleā (haha whatās that?!), but know that Iām definitely trying and Iām recording things.Ā
Iām also pretty active on Instagram and Snapchat (elizziebooks on both), so if youāre likeĀ āI MISS YOUUUUā you can find me there as well as on Twitter (elizziebeth).Ā
Anyway, I just wanted to let yāall know that if youāre struggling to find time and energy to put up videos, posts, etc, know that I AM TOO and itās just a part of life sometimes. Letās not be too hard on ourselves. Iām definitely going to be working on ways toĀ ārefill my creative wellā. Cool cool cool.
Thanks for reading and watching and all that,
Liz
Letās go to the Jungle!
Itās time to go on an adventure!
I grew up watching a lot of Disney movies, including but not limited to the 1967 animated film and the 1942 live action film. When my brother liked a story, we watched EVERY incarnation of it! Lo and behold, in the wave of live action remakes, Disney added another adaptation of Rudyard Kiplingās Jungle Book stories. Oh, you didnāt know it was a series of stories? (Itās okay, I just Googled it).Ā
Disney is kindly giving me the opportunity to host a giveaway for all yāall (in the US at least) to have a chance to win a Blu Ray and DVD copy of The Jungle Book (2016)! So whether you have a DVD player or a Blu Ray player, you can play this film!Ā

If you donāt win-- donāt worry! The Blu-Ray+DVD will be out Tuesday, August 30 for purchase. (Do iiiiit)
And if you want something to do with your kids, Disney gave me a couple of activity books! Hereās a great one with shadow puppets and hereās one that goes over jungle animals!
Thanks and thanks for sharing this post! <3

Some Thoughts On #fakereadergirls
The hashtag #fakereadergirls has taken the Internet by storm over the past few days. Iāve seen a lot of positive things said. Iāve seen a lot of good ideas. But Iāve also seen some negativity that has made me feel uncomfortable. Let me explain.
For those of you under a rock, #fakereadergirls started when comments were going around on Booktube suggesting that women canāt like books and wear makeup. Of course, this is preposterous. Just because you canāt imagine girls who wear makeup reading books, it doesnt mean that they canāt or shouldnāt.
Admittedly, I donāt wear makeup. This is not because Iām a bookworm. Itās because I look silly in makeup. The most Iāll wear is some foundation to cover up my bad skin. But that doesnāt make me any more or less of a bookworm than all the book bloggers, booktubers and bookstagrammers that do wear makeup. It just means that I am someone who happens to like books and not wear makeup. It is just one small part of who I am.
That said, I have also seen girls who do wear makeup arguing that they are a true bookworm despite wearing makeup because of how many books theyāve read this year. This has often been quoted as being between fifty and seventy books, and it made me think. Does how much you like books depend on how many books youāve read this year. Am I any less of a bookworm than some of these girls because Iāve only read sixteen books this year?
The answer, of course, is no. Being a bookworm should no more be defined by how many books youāve read than how much makeup you wear. It makes me uncomfortable that some people think this way. Reading and being a bookworm should not be a competition. It should not be a fashion statement. It should not be affected by how much makeup you wear. Being a bookworm should be defined by one thing. Three little words. āI like books.ā
Agreed! Itās not about what you look like or how many books youāve read. If you like reading, youāre a reader!
After reading An Ember in the Ashes: what the HELL?! WHAT?!? THE?!? HELL?!? WAS?!? THAT?!? W H A T T H E H E L L W A S THAT. WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED? THAT IS MESSED UP
Talking to a friend over text: There's this really amazing book you have to read. You're going to love it :)
