A Break-up Letter I wrote for a class exercise about 2 years ago. Found it and thought it was kind of funny.

“Dear Cigarettes,

You are the best and the worst thing that ever happened to me. I have realized that there is no beneficial factor for me along with my degrading health when I’m with you. I thank you for being there for me when I needed a break apart from this harsh world, when I needed a breath of fresh air during breaks... But I cant do this anymore.

I have been pondering about this for quite some time, and I think now is the perfect time. After I kiss you and your fellow roommates goodbye, please don’t ever appear in my life in any other identities like Camel Crush or Malboro.

I do not see this relationship being a mutually beneficial one especially since I am spending money for 2-3 minutes of pleasure and to slowly kill me.

Your love is too toxic.
