So a week ago i had surgery to get the plate and screws taken out of my ankle and today is the first day I’ve been left to my own devices! The first few days boy was amazing and took care of me! (Including helping me walk to the toilet and sponge bathing me cos our shower sucks) Yesterday he went back to work and my grandma came to help me out and i put away the dishes and prepared breakfast and lunch and walked outside to the car! I thought that was damn good! Now today I’m all alone (bar ½ hour when boy came home for lunch) and I’ve msde breakfast, lunch, showered myself and walked outside to the mail box!! Small steps but I’m getting there! Later I’ve got to prepare dinner for game of thrones night and wash up the dishes. It doesnt sound like much but to go from 2 panadeine Forte every 6 hours and still being in agony to no drugs and taking care of myself in a week, thats huge! I also dont have the pain i had with the plates in my ankle, I’ve prodded it as much as i can with the stupid bandage and it feels good! Can’t wait to get the stitches out and get back to life! :D
I broke my ankle in September 2014, now I've just had the hardware removed and i feel great! Hopefully this'll continue in an upward direction and i can fully get back into roller derby. It ultimately is my goal to be doing something that makes me happy! I can't wait to get back to a point where i can skate a whole session again :)
