IN THE STUDIO | CHEYNE ELLETT
We’re taking a peek into the studio space of Long Beach, CA based artist Cheyne Ellett whose cramped studio apartment serves as a study space as well as a makeshift creative zone, where he can paint, draw, sew and do all things artistic. Keeping his space optimistic and playful, Cheyne’s studio space is not only practical, but also filled with things that inspire and keep it positive for him. Take the leap and find out more about Cheyne’s space, what he does to stay creative, and what he has coming up for the rest of 2019!

We’re flipping through the art pages of Feelings, a riso zine created by artist Cheyne Ellett. This colorful zine utilizes the process of riso, which is less labor intensive than your normal silk screening. This zine cut in the folio style opens up to reveal a 11 x 17 in. print on the back!

I forgot to update my tumblr for like a year and my instagram wont link to it for some reason. I graduate next spring and i’m in my 2nd to last semester of school. It’s been a stupid long journey to get here. I’m in a screen printing class right now at school and its so fun. i just made my first print from the class available. I’ll copy paste the text from the listing below you can buy it here ! First ever silkscreen print from the fall of 2018. Created after a summer full of mental and physical traumas. The print is inspired from how I've been ignoring my health since 2012 working tirelessly at my practice. I finally overstepped my mental capacity and regressed on years of mental health progress. Shortly after, I also hurt my neck and am now barely beginning to feel normal again after close to six months of chronic pain. The print is a memento of a difficult time in my life and a reminder that it's extremely important to pause and take care of oneself whether it be by stretching, taking a walk to clear your mind or even indulging in a juicy burrito!Screen print pulled by the artist. 5 colors. 18"x24" 280 gsm archival paper. Edition of 7.Created using the paper stencil screen printing method. Original stencils are destroyed, no planned reprints.Work ships in a 3"x24" shipping tube.
Learned oil painting this semester. ended up loving it by the end and then lost my entire oil painting box filled with all my supplies 2.5 weeks before the end of the semester. :]
