Genaya smiled as she watched him go. She felt incredibly lucky to have Elliot. Everything just seemed to fit so perfectly. He made her feel wanted, he made her feel seen. She knew where they stood in their relationship and didn’t get the feeling he was holding back. Her smile dipped a little. When she got comfortable things always went wrong. Either someone left, or lied, or decided she wasn’t worth it. She and Elliot had been dating since September and with every other relationship she had been in by the point she was at she had already said I love you. Not this time. She had the words locked away. She’d had her heart broken three times in as many years, two of which devastated her. Doing it again might push her over the edge.
Trying to get her mind off of dark subjects Naya finished her breakfast and got out of bed to go find something nice to wear before wandering out. “Elliot?”
Elliot had woken up early to prepare most of the second “phase” of date day. He had found a few mismatched scented candles to set around the room. He lit them and turned the lights off which really seemed pointless with daylight streaming in through the windows. He hadn’t brought fancy clothes so he fashioned himself a bow tie out of some post-it notes. For a final touch he connected his phone to the tv to play some romantic music. When she walked out he turned and his eyes lit up. “Wow.” He could barely mumble. Walking over to her he took both her hands and looked her up and down. “Wow...” He simply repeated himself as he continued to just stare. It took him a moment before he snapped back. “Oh uh.. So this was all supposed to look more romantic..” he gestured across the room. “But I thought it was time I took you dancing.” Kissing her hand softly he gave her his most chivalrous bow. “May I?”
