Niklaus raised his brows slightly when she spoke about finding out the gender as early as possible. Not that he had any problem with that. He was just surprised to hear those words coming from her mouth. “Yeah, I don’t think I have the patience to wait until the baby is born to find out the gender. I heard you can find out as early as like….ten weeks? With a blood test or something. Maybe we can ask about that today— see want the doctor says.” if they knew the gender then they could both start preparing more. Three months had already passed, they only had six months left, which seemed like such a small amount of time to prepare for something, or in this case, someone, that would change their lives forever.
When they reached the third floor, Niklaus stepped out and headed over to the empty seats in the waiting room. “If you need any help with getting a nursery ready at any point in time, just let me know. I’ll probably start clearing out one of the rooms at my place to do the same thing.” that is, if she was even planning on making up a nursery for the baby.
The surprise the blonde felt from that revelation was obvious in her eyes as she looked over at Niklaus with raised eyebrows. So they could find out the gender already? She’d assumed it was much later with a scan, but that just went to show how much she knew about the ins and outs of this. “Oh…so we can, yes, let’s ask about it today then that’s a good idea.” Just another layer to be worried about, great. Did she have a preference? Ellie hadn’t bothered to stop to think about that and now it felt like it was too late to ponder it, they were moments away from their appointment at this point. “I didn’t know it could be done this early, you apparently know more than me.” She murmured, taking a seat next to him with a creak of the plastic underneath her, picking up the pen attached to the clipboard.
“Well it’ll be sleeping in my room for the first couple of months I would assume, that’s what we did with Walker, since there is such frequent feedings anyway. I’ll let you know though.” Swallowing she got as far as writing her name, date of birth, and address before pausing once more to look at Niklaus. “You’re going to make up a nursery at yours?”
