As the departure approaches, tick tock, tick tock, Louis is forced to admit that his heart may not survive...

But does Harry feel the same way?

25k words doesn't seem a long time to build a credible relationship from scratch, from two strangers, even two enemies. And yet, @elsi-bee writing and storytelling talent make us believe in them, vibrate with Harry and Louis, and tremble at the inevitable passage of time.

The perfect Christmas fic. I loved it ! A real Christmas treat. And yes, another one that could be a movie, a Christmas romance.

Summary : After an encounter in a coffee shop with the rudest man he's ever met, Louis hopes the city is just big enough that he'll never bump into him again. When he spots that man at a bar the following evening, a plan begins to form. They both need dates for their respective Christmas parties and decide to use each other for their own benefit. They'll help one another through the holidays and then 'break it off' on New Year's, then agree to never see each other again. Developing feelings was not part of the plan.

Summary : Sales reps Harry and Louis are bored with their jobs and their lives. After meeting at a conference in Cardiff they hook up, have a few too many drinks, and jokingly apply to become remote lighthouse keepers. Six months, just the two of them, looking after the southernmost lighthouse off the bottom of Australia. It’s not like their applications will be accepted. Right?

This is the story of how one choice - a left instead of a right, a go instead of a stop, a yes instead of a no - can change the future forever and that sometimes, taking that leap of faith, is worth the risk.

Fashion AU. Louis is the editor in chief of Vogue magazine, and Harry's running British GQ. Featuring Zayn as the crazy creative director and Louis' confidant, Liam as the sports « writer that gets to sit front row at fashion week and DJ Neil as the only sane person in the whole story. (There are no skinny jeans in this fic) 

I found the dynamic between the characters absolutely addictive, I loved the flirting, the teasing, the excellent smut. A masterpiece.

Summary : AU. So, yeah. That year abroad helped Harry establish that he is in love with his best friend. Now, if Louis would stop treating him like a little brother, that would be awesome. (Additional ingredients: a collapsing tree house, a lot of pining, the other three boys as Louis' new best mates from university, and a camping trip. Serve hot.)

I loved it. The plot is simple, the story is short, but why complicate life? When it's good, it's good. And there's pining. I'll die on pining hill.

Meditation AU, party boy Louis, hippie-es que Harry

Summary : Louis is forced to attend a week long meditation retreat. The meditation coach is not quite what he was expecting.

Louis and Liam are songwriters. Harry might be a giant hippie. Niall plays guitar and Zayn is dark and mysterious.

A Meditation AU, because that's totally a thing.

I confess I started this fic a little absent-mindedly, thinking it would be like an in-between... Well, what a mistake... The plot is well-constructed, the characters well-defined, "real" even if the story is short, there's pining (did I tell you about me and pining hill?), we're in it and we love it!

I should mention here again that I really have a thing for Tarlos fics. I really find the quality of what I read to be exceptional, while the fandom, compared to others, is very small.

I also think I have a real crush on Carlos and TK, but that's another subject ☺️

Sport AU, Baseball AU, enemies to friends to lovers

Summary : TK knows this season is going to be different from the minute he steps onto the court the first day of practice; he can feel the buzz in the air of the Moody Center as the team warms up.

Most obviously, they’re all hungry for a title after being knocked out of the Elite Eight last season, not that TK was around to witness it. But he was there for the buzzer beater that lost them the championship game the year prior, and that’s reason enough for him to crave redemption.

The other main factors responsible for filling the room with energy are the new additions to their roster. Primarily, Carlos Reyes.

TK hasn’t been able to go anywhere this semester without hearing about how Carlos transferred schools after a family emergency to be closer to home, or even more so, seeing him around campus—the library, TK’s favorite coffee shop, his 8 am class every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Carlos is inescapable.

I love this author, it's confirmed. I'm a sucker for AU sports, you add impeccable writing, a tight script, slow burn, pining... I'm in heaven.

The story takes place on a fictional Greek island where TK comes to forget the world. There he finds Carlos...

Summary : Greece, uh?”

TK doesn’t specify. He doesn’t point out that it’s an island, hours away from where the plane will leave him. He doesn’t tell him that the name – Varco – is one he never heard before; didn’t even know it existed, until he saw it scribbled black on white.

He doesn’t tell him how much he likes the word, like it came out of a fairy-tale.

Owen would probably think him foolish, and TK is not sure he would be wrong.

So he just smiles, bites his lip to smother it a bit: keep it leveled, secure. For now. “Yeah.”

An island filled with legends, a son with a path to build or just return to, and a house that waited. A story about patience, courage and a love that grants wishes as shooting stars do: all it takes is belief.

I loved this story. As a rule, I always enjoy themes related to isolation, voluntary retreat and resilience. So when it's also very, very well written... Magical.

I loved the way the chemistry and sexual tension between Draco and Harry were portrayed, as well as the humor and pace of the story.

Summary : Over the six years Draco Malfoy has been an Auror, four of his partners have turned up dead. Harry Potter is assigned as his newest partner to investigate just what is going on.

An absolutely magnificent fic, with magnificent characters and a masterful script. A joy to read.

Summary : Alex could have walked out of the Williamsburg apartment at any time. Instead, he decides to sign up to twelve months of Henry.

Alex makes a rash decision and Henry inexplicably runs with it.

(The "accidental housemates" AU that literally no-one asked for).

A brilliant fic, a perfect reading moment. I loved the characters, the way their feelings are built up, the pinning. Lolaland, who also writes Tarlos fics, is definitely a wonderful writer.

Never did run smooth, by Clottedcreamfudge

Fake pretend relationship, reality tv

Summary : "You and me? Best friends. Stellar. Love that for us. But we could absolutely fake being in love. Dating. Whatever. I know literally everything about you—" (No you don't, Henry thinks firmly) "—and you know everything about me. We would absolutely fucking annihilate the other contestants.”

"You're too drunk to apply," Henry points out, like he himself isn't about as wasted as it's possible for him to be without curling up and going immediately to sleep. "I doubt you could spell your own name right on the application. Or mine."

Alex grins and pulls something up on his phone; it looks like it takes him a few tries. "Wanna fucking bet?"

Or: Henry's life is a comedy of errors; a patchwork of oopsie-daisies; a quilt stitched together with hauntingly terrible mistakes. And at the centre of it all is his best friend, Alex Claremont-Diaz; director of said comedy, threading together his oopsie-daisies into a flower crown, rolling around in the quilt of his own making, and this analogy is going to shit because Henry's so in love with him he wants to die.

A serotonin boost, beautiful and sexy story…
