The Life of Lemmy, Chapter 5: The Walk

The next morning, after breakfast, Lemmy sat down on a couch with Elsie.
"My mother was... horrible to me," Elsie said.
"Really?" asked Lemmy, sounding worried.
"Really," answered Elsie. "She wanted another boy, but she got a girl. Me, my father and my brother tried to escape but it was no use. She... she killed my father and brother. I managed to escape, and I was raised by Kamek."
Lemmy was shocked. He thought grandmothers were supposed to be sweet and kind from the all books he was read. He then started to tear up.
"I can't believe your Mama would do that to you!" Lemmy sobbed.
"Kamek took me to what would eventually be Bowser's castle," Elsie continued. "He raised me to be who I am today. And now I'm keeping you as far away from that monster as possible."
"I don't want to meet my Grandma..." Lemmy whimpered shyly.
"And you won't," said Elsie. "As long as we're together."
"Lemmy, wanna go out for a walk?" Elsie asked.
"Yes please!" Lemmy giddily said.
So Elsie and Lemmy went out for their walk. It was a beautiful autumn day and there wasn't a single cloud in the sky. They passed by some beautiful flowers and Lemmy stopped to smell them. He even gave the petals a few little kisses.
Lemmy pretty much was a flower — he was just so sweet, and so, so shy. Elsie could just imagine him blooming from a flower as it opened. That was such a beautiful thought.
As Elsie and Lemmy continued their walk, Lemmy suddenly stepped on something… and it hurt! Really, really BADLY! He shrieked in pain, and then sat down crying.
"Ow, ow, OWIE!" cried Lemmy.
Elsie immediately knelt down next to Lemmy. She was so concerned! He had a thorn on his left foot! Poor thing!
"Lemmy! Lemmy! Oh Lemmy, are you alright?" Elsie asked.
"No!" said Lemmy as he spread his toes to show the thorn. "I have a boo-boo!"
Elsie picked him up and started to pull the thorn out. It was rather deep, but Elsie was strong and managed to successfully pull it out. Then she gave Lemmy a little kiss on that same spot where the thorn was.
"T-thank you, Mama," Lemmy whimpered.
"You're welcome," Elsie responded.
The mother and son continued their walk until they came across a hotdog stand.
"Mama! Mama!" shouted Lemmy. "I want a hotdog! Please!"
"Okay Lemmy!" giggled Elsie. "I'll buy one for you. Don't wander too far."
While Elsie was buying a hotdog, Lemmy saw a butterfly. He giggled and decided to follow it. The butterfly flew far away from Elsie. Lemmy ran completely out of Elsie's sight. Suddenly, Lemmy looked around and he could not find his mother anywhere.
"Mama! MAMA!" he continuously called, but there was no response.
Lemmy was lost, and he started to tear up.
Lemmy suddenly saw an adult koopa woman walking by. She seemed very friendly.
"Hello," she said to him. "Are you lost?"
"Yes..." Lemmy whispered.
"I know your mother," the stranger replied. "I'll take you to my house. Here, have a lollipop."
Lemmy gasped happily when he saw the lollipop. Just when he was about to go off with the stranger, he heard a voice.
"LEAVE MY BABY ALONE!" shouted the voice.
Elsie had arrived just in time. She begun breathing fire towards the stranger. The stranger gasped and ran off.
"Are you okay, Lemmy?" Elsie asked, worriedly.
"I am now," answered Lemmy. "I was lost."
"I was worried sick," said Elsie. "I thought I'd lost you."
Elsie gave Lemmy a big hug.
"Let's get you home," she said. "Then, it's hotdog time."
Lemmy giggled as Elsie carried him all the way home. And once they arrived home, he had that yummy hotdog!
