Hey Sixpencee! I'm brazillian and I saw your post about FofĆ£o and I thought I'd add the urban legend that surrounds this character, making it even more creepy! I translated a text from a blog below, hope you like it:
āAfter the release of the first FofĆ£o dolls, the people who had bought it noticed that inside the doll's body, under the chest area, there was a sharp object. When they were opened, they found an object that looked like a dagger under it's neck, and in some cases there was a small plastic bag with red powder tied to the dagger.
It is said that the actor (Orival Pessini) who played FofĆ£o did a pact with the Devil so that he could have fame and money. In exchange, he would bring Satan into the houses of all those who'd buy the dolls. Another theory says that the makers were satanic people and also aimed to bring evil into people's homes. Still according to the legend, the doll should be immediately destroyed, preferably with fire.
Some also say that FofĆ£o's TV show had hidden messages that should induce children to commit crimes. Others say that those rumors were spread by a rival broadcaster that wanted to ruin the image of the character.ā
Real or not, it's pretty creepy if you look at the pictures.
