Ubiquitous Content
I am currently proposing an idea for a bachelor project. Something that I pretty excited about. I know it might sound far fetched, I don’t know if it is the right time for something as complex or high concept.
Now social networks keep evolving, we first started with twitter then we got Facebook. These platforms helped us create a digital identity, it gave us a digital presence. Now is the time for something new and different. With ubiquitous computing on the verge or almost in the near future, the internet will no longer be in screens. It will be everywhere we will communicate with objects and they will communicate back. In other words, your fridge will remind you to buy milk, or your vacuum cleaner will ask you to use it because the house is too dirty. If this is the future of how we interact with the internet, then how will we use social networks? Will we still Like, retweet, and post? This is where my research comes in. I am imagining a world were content, just like the internet is everywhere, physically (Geo-Location). People will manage to drop content, videos, put pictures on walls or floors. People will share their content on the spot. No longer will they ask their peers to open their facebook page to see their new post, or grab their phone to show it to them. They will just put it and anyone in the location will see it instantly.
The term Ubiquitous Content seemed the best fit for something like this. If ubiquitous computing is the future of computing then ubiquitous content is the future of content sharing.
Hopefully you will see the full project soon.
All will be well.
