Totally love the dynamic between Luz and Hunter in Hunting Palismen as it is right now; full of bickering and taunting, yet also having those moments where they connect, find common ground, and wish they could be friends but knowing that’s impossible with their places in society at the moment. A lot of people want them to be siblings, some people are even starting to ship them. But to me, I wouldn’t mind if their dynamic stayed the same…If anything, I’m more interested in the subversion of this little scene.
To me, it’s very clear what the framing of this is trying to do. You got two characters of the opposite sex, got one of them injured, and the other getting closer, and closer, inspecting the damage. It’s imagery you can easily recognize from Disney films

It’s a joke any show could do, but it especially works for The Owl House given that their endgame ship is gonna be a sapphic couple. Had this episode been released BEFORE Through The Glass Ruins, people could’ve been fooled into thinking that a love triangle was gonna pop up in the show, GoldenLuz vs Lumity. So I don’t know about you, but I’d love it if Luz and Hunter kept getting similar ‘will they or won’t they~~? lol they won’t!!’ moments. I think it’d be an awesome subversion of those shows and movies, the ones that have their explicit straight couples yet keep joking and teasing a potential gay ship, usually between two close friends. Like, just imagine The Owl House, that is already so good with its wlw representation, having such an explicit gay couple and having a straight version of queerbaiting…Hetbaiting. Straightbaiting. It’d be gold (pun intended)
