So recently I started reading the novel “Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West”, I am in love with Elphaba. I made this video focusin on her time at the University of Shizand her relatinship with Dr. Dillamond. I really like the way they show her timid sometimes but then sarcastic, bold and opinionated. She is not perfect, of course not, but she is not trying to be and that is something I love about this character.

Note: I used Dana Paola as faceclaim because she was casted as Elphaba in Wicked here in México and I think she did a decent job. Plus I saw her in Elite and found some clips that I think capture the escence of the Witch of the West.

It was horrible. My dad was drunk out of his mind. Then he entered the house, and saw my younger brother. Then he started asking if he is gay (my brother is 7 years old) and if he is, my dad said he wouldn’t talk to him anymore even if my brother would want to. He even said he wouldn’t love him anymore. It was so horrifying, and I hate that I can’t do anything but watch my younger brother cry as he kept saying “I’m not gay.” I hate that I can’t do anything because I was so afraid of what my father is capable of doing at that moment.

I was in the middle of both of them, trying so hard to shut it all out. All hopes of coming out to my parents shattered, because my mom said a “gentler” homophobic speech months before. I thought my dad was more open about it. I guess not.

Right now, all I know is I’m numbed by everything and I feel lost yet at the same time, nothing at all.

I just wanna say that you must first think of what you’ll say to a person because words are powerful and they can cut deeply, and they affect so much. Whatever you say reflects who you are and being drunk, out of your mind, anything, is not an excuse for your words or your actions, and everything that you do.

Let’s start creating a safer environment, and a safer place for people who feel like they can’t be true to themselves because of the constraints traditions and old customs set. Let’s all embrace diversity, and let the world achieve the most colorful version of it.

Let’s all try to fight conventions and discriminations in any way we know how!
