Saying Katniss didn’t love Peeta is like saying Star Wars isn’t political. Katniss loved that man so much, it pains me to hear people say that she doesn’t. She was so scared when she thought he was going to die after hitting the force field. When she finds out that they weren’t able to save Peeta after escaping the arena, she goes ballistic and starts lashing out. YOU’RE TELLING ME YOU DON’T THINK SHE LOVES HIM?!?

i hope something makes you smile today 💌💕🌻🥰
I hope we all have it clear that Peeta didn’t just toss the bread to Katniss because he had a crush on her.
Peeta would’ve wanted to toss those loaves for anyone starving and near death (definitely in his adulthood). The fact that it was Katniss only complicated his reasons, the fact that it had been Katniss only gave him the bravery he might have needed to take a beating for it.
One of the most "you need to accept two things as opposing and yet still true" Jane Austen fandom things is Lydia Bennet.
Yes, she is a human being who can make decisions, so she does have some level of responsibility for running away with Wickham, which may have harmed her entire family. We shouldn't infantalize her
BUT
A sixteen-year-old should have never been in a position where she could so easily ruin her life, especially one who repeatedly demonstrated poor judgment. Her parents should have protected her properly; that is their job. In fact, her parents should have protected the entire family by keeping Lydia at home and trying to teach her some common sense
the first rule of being on the internet is you should have other stuff going on, besides being on the internet
i'm surprised people genuinely dislike lydia bennet instead of feeling genuine sadness and heartbreak for her. she was 15 and immature and didn't know any better and frankly acted like a misguided teenager. like did you not understand what jane austen was telling you about the reality and situation of young girls during the early 19th century??
The fact that it's hard to modernize Lydia Bennet's disaster in Pride & Prejudice because she can always just go home is such a good thing and we should appreciate it and protect it with our lives
