Wire Brooch Project. I took inspiration from curve stitching. I decided o make a brooch designed for men, and used many different processes and materials. Processes were sawing, soldering, drilling, threading an laser welding. Materials userd were steel, silver and thread. (bottom 3 images are the prototype using steel and gilding metal)
Outcome for a movement project inspired by horses.
Maquettes using wire, tissue paper, wax and gold leaf.
Finally getting round to photographing some maquettes. This was a sketchbook for the project with the stop animation skipping rope.
I filmed and edited this for my most recent project which included my steel brooch. For my project I created a character and narrative, it has strong links to fashion and consumer culture. A society that values image over object.
When purchased the piece will then be posted to the recipient in a gold envelope.
This is a piece I made, it is a brushed steel brooch with a detachable chain of different thicknesses, it also comes with some pins so you can alter the way the chain hangs.
These images are to suggest the idea of the permanence and impermanence of an object. Highlighting the idea of how we trust a material such as gold to continue our legacy. The idea of buying something knowing that it will most likely last longer than us. Realising your own mortality. (shape silhouette is around a piece of bone).
These images are the intital ideas i had for my final project as a 2nd jewellery student, the project was entitled 'resolution'. I decided to look at themes of fashion, film, impermance, and mortality.
All these images I made as part of a collaboration project with my fellow jewellers, our outcome was a film based around a lemon and its impact as an object.
Stop motion, photographic film for my true or false project.
Storyboard of film stills.
These items I made for a project exploring the idea of true or false. I linked this with an idea of crime and the missing link to determin whether someone is guilty or not guilty. All pieces are ceramic and wax.
