“Goa is not real India” after weeks in the real India i am completely fine with this. Find the beach that suites you, in our case the retiree beach. Theres no loud music, the beach is sparsely populated, the internet works, you can breath the air, there is not garbage everywhere.
I’m fine being in a little bubble for now.
Agonda beach, India
Hampi is a fairly spread out mess of ruins and boulders. It's easy to spend a few days just wondering around from temple to palace to stepwell, to large boulders, and past groups of pissing women. Seems inevitable you will have to deal with open urination in India. We had to pass 3 or 4 women pissing to get to the bus back to town. Hampi, India
Mumbai was a suprise. I did not expect to enjoy it as much as I did. The city actually has sidewalks something Chennai was missing. We managed to walked a good bit of the peninsula eating much along the way. Quite a comfortable temperature too. I would have stayed longer but it's also an expensive city. The air pollution makes a nice sunset though. Mumbai, India
Baku and Sheki. Can you guess which is which?
A couple photos from our trip to Abkhazia, the break away state in Georgia. Reading the US/UK State Departments warnings you would think you were visiting an isolated backwater, but in reality it’s something of a Russian holiday spot. The drive from the border with Georgia can feel surreal at times. The drive has you passing though almost abandoned villages, shelled houses, and a landscape of nature reclaiming fields and buildings. But once you reach the capital Sukhum and further north near Gagra, it becomes clear this is kind of like any other tourist town. Old women try to sell you tours to the nearby mountains. Burly men rest shirtless on the rocky beach. Kids ride around on bikes. You forget you are in a supposed danger zone.
Sukhum,
Abkhazia
Odessa was unexpectedly colorful... at night. During the day, the sky was a somewhat constant grey with light showers. But at night the streets are lit up. It is a wonderful city to just walk around. Oh and there are tons of friendly cats everywhere.

I still want to get a Lada and drive it as far east as possible. Azerbaijan had the highest concentration of Ladas I have seen anywhere.
