I so SO badly want to make a character to play with Henry.

henry could probably cook better than his mom, had he lived long enough to practice more. whenever susan worked late, he cooked dinner for him and peter and would leave food for her when she came home. henry was the best boy.

DAD.

       “first of all,” bill starts, grabbing onto a piece of toast and buttering it lazily, “finishing a book isn’t easy, you know. we can’t all be geniuses.” he sticks the piece of toast into his mouth and grabs onto the coffee, leaning back against the counter top. “second of all, you were supposed to be sleeping or sitting there helping me. you’ve got to pick one. if you’re awake at four in the morning, you’re on typo duty.” so there’s the answer to the first question. four am. at least. and the answer to the second question is no, the book still isn’t finished. 

         “ MAYBE ----- just maybe, try coming up with better excuses. ” henry’s lips are NOW pulled into a snarky smile, reaching for his glass of chocolate milk off the counter. BEFORE he presses it to his lips, he allows a roll of his eyes and another cheeky reply. “ as a certified genius, i don’t have to put up with this. i could go to HARVARD. right now. ” he motions TOWARDS the door dramatically and the snorts out a laugh, finally taking a drink. once he swallows, he places the cup back onto the counter and raises eyebrows in the direction of his adopted father. “ so, next time insomnia strikes, should i just come bother you ?? ”

                * HENRY PAUSES ; drawing in a deep breath as he considers his next move. exhaling slowly, he shrugged his shoulders casually. “ hypothetically speaking ---- NO, that won’t work. you can’t force it to work, hoping that it’ll work, because it WON’T. you’re just going to break it. ”

           “ you’re REALLY SMART, ” he says, a soft smile pressed against lips before glancing down at the book thrown across their laps. “ i don’t know why you need help with anything. ” it is possible, henry realizes quietly, that perhaps will not only wanted to get caught back on all that he had M I S S E D, but perhaps he also craved company from someone who WASN’T going to pity him. henry, of course, would NEVER pity him ----- henry did not have it in him to poke && prod a boy who went through so much.
