This is what I came up for the Dust combinations, by dusting off (…) my old school notes:
Basically I threw most of the new stuff away and changed the lighting dust to earth dust (because lightning is not a basic element damn it ¬.¬) and based them on the Japanese Traditional Elements
Earth (Yellowish- Brown?)
The Fifth Element is (Void) represents Aura, because despite the name it’s supposed to represent ‘us’ and our creative energy, holding the key to elightment (awakening Aura anyone?)
I gave decided that since it’s mined and naturally-ocurring it should be considered a mineral in-universe so it should have the properties classifications of it the plot relevant ones are:
Hardness: Somewhere in Between Topaz and Corundum
Luster: Non-metallic and Vitreous
Tenacity: Ductility (This is how it can added to clothes *high fives*)
I divided the combinations secondary (any basic combination) and tertiary (secondary+basic or secondary+secondary etc.) and here’s what I got, some are common sense others… admitedly are a hunch >->
Water + Wind = Ice (Cyan)
Wind + Fire = Mist ( Silver?)
Earth + Fire = Lava (Orange)
Earth + Wind = Lightning (Golden?)
Water + Fire = Plasma (Purple)
Water + Earth = Magnetism (Dark Blue)
Water + Wind + Fire = Light (Pale Pink)
Earth + Wind + Fire = Gravity (Black)
Fire + Water + Earth = Plasma (Violet)
Water + Wind + Earth = Sound (Grey)
All Four = Energy (White)
Tertiary (Incomplete list for now):
Lava + Water = Steam (Chartreuse)
Gravity + Sound = Explosion (Dark Grey)
Lighting + Water = Storm (Emerald)
Light + Earth = Rainbow (Multicolor… duh)
Sound + Fire = Fireworks (Crimson)
That’s what I have so far, feel free to add, correct or use or whatever.
Sokumo} I really like what you did with the clothing aspect of it, especially since it’s an “age old technique” and you going through the steps to explain them is great as well!
I don’t know if it’s a mistake but you added plasma twice -I would argue gravity/sound is not an element as much as a force but fans will whine and call me rwde.- that being said this is a well thought out list worthy of what rwby deserves, now if you could figure out how it works with semblance you whould have explained it faster and more efficiently than the canon, keep up the good work.
But explaination of elements first and fuctionality secondary.
