The individual you think you are is actually a self-projected image within your brain intended to improve your executive function in worldly life.

It is a useful phenomenon but also just a stepping stone with respect to the evolution of conscious biological organisms.

Eventually there is a point in which that self-image becomes a burden.

Self-esteem, motivation, the search for happiness and fulfillment and meaning, fears and insecurities, jealousy and anger, all of these weigh on that self-image.

What began as a useful device became a hook upon which to hang endless troubles and tensions.

It doesn’t have to be this way.

The search for security does not end insecurity. The external search for happiness does not satisfy our desire to be happy. The quest for high self-esteem does not save us from experiencing low self-esteem.

You cannot solve these problems from the same levels of perception that created the problems.

There are as many paths to awakening and evolution as there are beings to walk the path.
