Holy shit, guys.
That was the craziest 48 hours of my life and I think I can also speak for my co-mod @glindalesbian there. We are ABSOLUTELY BLOWN AWAY by both the quantity and quality of steals you guys have put out for this round. You should all be so so proud of yourselves and I hope, most importantly, that you are HAVING FUN!!!!!!!!!
We'll do our big Round of 16 Wrapped stats dump once the Sudden Death poll has run its course (more on that later), but for now I do want to give you one stat: we received TWO HUNDRED AND SIX (206) DIFFERENT STEAL WORKS OVER THE PAST WEEK. That is more than ANY round in last year's tournament and the ENTIRE summer of steal!!!!! This queue will be going for a WHILE lol and we've still got two more stealing rounds to go!!!

From our first ever 50-50 finish in a poll to Crime Wives becoming our first 2026 new entrant to reach the quarter finals, this was a fascinating battle between two Little Ships That Could. Never underestimate the power of a rarepair. Especially if it's coparenting lesbian criminals, apparently.

For how distraught Old People Nation were when this match up first happened, you all really got behind Valvert when it came down to steals! Kind of a flex. You guys didn't need to defeat Baptistine/Magloire that hard. You just did it recreationally. I'm terrified about what this implies for your game plan in the quarter finals.

We saw two very different attitudes in this match up between Monday's exit poll and today's stealing deadline. Jehanparnasse nation went for a bit of what I like to call "Stop! Stop! He's already dead!", where despite achieving a GIGANTIC swing by the time the polls closed, you guys just kept stealing for the love of the game! Meanwhile, Team Marriedcade nobly decided It Ain't Over Till It's Over, and put up a MASSIVE fight. The raw numbers right here may say you still got defeated, but the fact that you managed to actually shrink Jehanparnasse's lead from the exit poll result really shows how intense this battle was. Everybody on both sides should be phenomenally proud of themselves.

This was actually one of our quietest match ups in a round where every Round of 16 ship received at least one steal work. In fact, these totals remain unchanged since Monday's exit poll! But don't be fooled... judging by their stealing game last year I suspect Eposette Nation are just getting started...
Myriel/Conventionist G_ vs. Joly/Bossuet/Musichetta

Whoa mama!! Our first change of winner from Monday's exit poll. Our SECOND new entrant to reach the quarter finals. And a SHOCK giant killing of last year's LMSS Bronze Medallists!!!! Once again, this is one of those match ups where these numbers do not tell the full story of this battle - JBM shippers put forward a lot of fantastic steal works between Monday and Wednesday (they'd actually submitted ZERO steals by the time polls closed on Monday!), but sadly for the fandom's favourite throuple they were to be no match for the power of MAN VS. INFINITE OLD MAN YAOI
Combeferre/Enjolras vs. Bahorel/Feuilly

Another giant killing here as Bahorel/Feuilly take out last year's FOURTH PLACE ship, Ferrejolras. Enjolferre? Guys we've got to figure out some of these shipping portmanteaus. This may have been another quieter battle on the steal front, but seeing as they've taken out last year's star ships Team Bahorel/Feuilly are surely one to watch going forward...
Cosette/Marius vs. Courfeyrac/Marius

Marisette went into the Round of 16 as 2026's last heteros standing, and it looked for a moment like we DO see a difference. Love ISN'T love when it comes to regular couples. But Marisette Nation fought back in the great Marius-Off of 2026, and it turns out that canonically being married does prevail over turning up at your best friend's house and going "I have come to sleep with you." Who'd've thunk.

This is such an insane occurrence in the history of fandom that I feel like there's actually only one way to properly break this news to you all.
This has never, ever happened before. And I genuinely did not realise it was going to be this big a landslide. Enjoltaire nation were stealing for their lives, something they have NEVER HAD TO DO BEFORE!! But at the end of the day, Marjolras? Marijolras? Enjolrius? oh for fucks sake I can't do this, ENJOLRAS/MARIUS NATION just stole a bit harder. And so, we have the answer to fandom's greatest question. Who would win? THE most popular ship in the history of Les Mis fandom? Or an unnameable ship with a steel labubu chair?
One thing is for certain. Whether or not Enjolras/Marius makes it all the way, with last year's slam dunk winner out of the equation, things are about to get very, very interesting up in here.
