We are being shot at in the middle of Gaza City. Where is the ceasefire agreement? Where is the humanity? They are shooting at and targeting people who go to get some firewood for their families to cook. We are truly oppressed.
This is an urgent plea coming from a tent drowned by rain.
Tonight has been brutally hard for us; the heavy rain pierced through our fragile tent and flooded everything we own. Our blankets, our clothes, our food… everything has become soaked and cold. My child is trembling in my arms, and I cannot find a single dry place to protect him from the cold that grows harsher with every passing moment.

Even after the so-called ceasefire, their lives are still hanging by a thread. At any moment I am not speaking to Zeina, it is possible that she has no food, no shelter, no safety this is what “after the war” looks like in Gaza.
Think about living with ruins instead of homes, fear instead of stability, and the echo of everything they lost. There’s no “getting used to” that as your constant reality.

The day before Thanksgiving I was fired from my job of two years, and at the time no reason was given beyond “ongoing issues”.
When I filed for unemployment via the Texas Workforce Commission the unemployment agent contacted me for more information and he read off the reasonings given by my former employer for my termination. The main reason my employer gave was “discussion of witchcraft and spells with [co-worker], which made her uncomfortable.”
However, this co-worker is also a practicing witch and our conversations regarding our practices were mutual and ongoing private discussions, something which I have substantial evidence to prove in the form of over a years worth of texts between us.
Christian co-workers occasionally spoke openly about their Christian faith to other employees and even customers with no issue, however I’ve been terminated for privately speaking about my own pagan beliefs with someone who shares them.
I don’t know how management found out about my private discussions with my co-worker or why I was the only one terminated for these mutual conversations, however I feel that this is a blatant case of religious discrimination considering the fact that discussion of my pagan beliefs was the reason given for my termination.
I have every intention of fighting this and am currently in the process of seeking legal representation while trying to also find a new job, however I was denied unemployment (which I’ve since appealed) and I have minimal savings and need help paying my bills for the New Year for the time being.
My family in Gaza has lived all these meanings. For two years we have been displaced again and again, carrying only blankets, hope, and each other. We no longer have a stable shelter, but we are trying to stay alive. you can support my family’s ❤️

He didn’t rush. Didn’t tug. Just worked carefully, sliding the shoe off and setting it neatly by the door.
When I looked up, my mom had frozen mid-motion with a coat in her hands. She pretended to straighten it, eyes flicking from Felix’s hands to my face.
She didn’t say anything as she ushered me toward the dining room chair like I might collapse at any second.
“Sit. Sit.”
I misjudged the distance slightly. The chair scraped.
Felix’s hand was already at the back of it, steadying before I even realized I’d wobbled.
“Got you,” he murmured.
He waited until I was fully seated before letting go.
“You didn’t have to-”
“I know.” He muttered, taking my crutches and leaning them against the wall."
