she++: From the Founders (Why we started she++) (by sheplusplus)
This looks about something many people wanted to do (say).
What is Information Architecture? (via OnDigital)
Yet another chart where the audience is left in mystery. Issue or size of bubble? Seriously. Get it. Together.
Hennessey Dodge Viper Venom 1000 SRT-10 Coupe Engine Bay
From that angle it's like a Cyborg.
"Truth"
Yeah, everything is 'stretchable' to a certain point, until it bounces back...
Android 4.3
Frantically, almost, I checked day after day if my phone wasn't missing an upgrade. A couple of days ago, my phone silently downloaded the upgrade and just asked 'Install upgrade now?'.
I did. Rebooted. No striking features. Feels like 4.2.2. Yes, "under the hood" many improvements. Should've been like 4.2.3.
Long time no see. Mark it down.
It's good to be back. I'm happy to see Markdown Here actually works here.
Update: only partially.
Why does Amazon Kindle always (and only) sync to the furthest location?
Oh, I put this question to Amazon. I was right, they said, that Amazon Whispersync(tm) syncs to the furthest location.
How to read textbooks (or manuals) on n devices? Amazon:
We suggest to turn off whispersync and use bookmarks instead.
Yeah, great idea. This would work if my textbooks haven‘t had any bookmarks to begin with. Apparently, it’s breaking news that people reading textbooks have one or two bookmarks to quickly jump to a topic, a definition, or whatever.
You see, Amazon, that is where your sync tremendously fails! To sync current and not furthest location. See the difference (again: current vs. furthest)? Damn, according to your staff, you actually don‘t. Seriously, this can’t be that hard to implement.
Is a Jailbreak on an iPod touch Worth the While?
Yes! Absolutely. It takes less than five minutes (the jailbreak itself), the fine tuning, playing around might take a little longer.
Particularly, SBSetting, Activator, and f.lux are extremely useful. SBSettings enable kind of shortcuts to (possibly) inconveniently placed settings. With Activator you can redefine gestures, clicks, taps wherever and to whatever you like (might even spare you to use keys). If you ever turned on you iPhone/touch/iPad and the extremely lit light shot your eyes down, f.lux is your tool. It potentially reduces eye-strain and and producing more eye-friendly colors (warmer) by the amount of blue as much as possible (several settings possible, up to candle light). Try it out in an entirely dark room. Your eyes will love it, I can tell you that. No 'shots' in your eyes anymore.
(Same applies to iPad and iPhone. I thought it was kind of obvious.)
Or: just showing the percentage instead of the meaningless battery? Bolt is your app to install.
Who Uses FB's Graph Search?
Seriously? I even struggled getting the question. Is it like, "Who wants to watch the Lost marathon on XY?" Huh. Sshhh. We ain't taking about it anymore.
or: "Who also weights 180 lb and wants to take a run?" "Anyone with a little boat who could take me to Guatemala?" "Who also has his hand in a pants and plays Halo?"
Or: "Who does not care a lot about FB and hates 'like me'-buttons?"
(Don't get me started on those hideous 'like me'-buttons. Look, here's the answer to some: NO ONE! Got it?)
How to Show User ~/Library in >= OS X Lion?
Terminal: chflags nohidden ~/Library/ Terminal (undo): chflags hidden ~/Library/
Find your iPod/iPad with 'Find my iPhone'?
Nope. Not even a chance. Unless you lost it in a WiFi your device is (allowed) to connect to. So: home and work (and friends), usually not in crooks'. Not to mentioned that WiFi has to be turned on. With iOS 6.1 you might want to turn on 'Airplane' mode occasionally to avoid some severe battery drain (personal experience only).
Thus: totally useless in many cases.
Restarting iTunes, why not starting where you have been?
Tough one. Apparently, no-one ever has been thinking about quitting iTunes. Thus, don't you dare to quit iTunes amid a playing list or an album or anything! Unless there's an 'update' which fixes bugs. Or sort of. (Yeah, bugs me, too!)
Why did Apple introduce Postcast and iTunesU apps on iOS 6.x?
Mostly likely because it was too convenient the old way, ie. having everything in one place. Remember from TV ads? "There is an app for everything."
Now even the 'dream' of splitting music from postcasts, videos from iTunesU has become true. Entirely counter-intuitive. Ah, right, there is an app for everything. Only that neither weather nor stocks are on iPads (yeah, there is...).
Why Can't Germans Do Proper Waiting Lines?
Most likely, they have not watched Americans doing such a thing. Poor and even pathetic.
What the F**k is this Guy Doing in my Backyard?
He takes his time to extensively throw away piece by piece into the trash cans, literally. I like him.
How Do I Get Attention Somehow?
I honest do not know. Consult either your therapist or web-consultant. Speaking of the latter, choose carefully. There are a lot of fools, crooks, and the like out these days. Same, unfortunately, applies to the first, too. Stay calm.
