seen a lot of people complaining about LCL buying players and i’m a bit confused?? for years the team that has been promoted has always been relegated in the WSL and besides that one season where villa were pushing for top 3 its always been a fight between chelsea, arsenal, united and city.

if anything i’m excited to see what they do especially seeing the players they’ve signed and hopefully they can make the league more interesting this year!!

When owners don’t invest in womens sports team people arent happy but when owners do it seems like people still arent happy!

I think everyone going "If Spain did this, the English media would go mad!!!" is also a little blinded by their love for their team (which is totally fair!!) But its like yeah? Just like the fallout is mad rn? Spanish media had news headlines calling the final unfair and saying spain was way superior. Its the nature of the press and football.

end of the day we won the final when spain were red hot favourites 🤷‍♀️

Why do people behave as though England don't get slammed in the foreign media the same as any other players? Chloe Kelly got accused of being cocky and arrogant after her penalty kick by a Spanish media outlet and several other English players have been bashed both during this tournament and in previous ones by the press. I also loath the practice of getting annoyed about something that didn't happen. Like yeah English media would be mad if Coll had lobbed Hannah's bottle. But she didn't and it's baffling getting upset about an imaginary scenario. As you said everyone wants more shithousery but not when it happens to them. Shithousery paradox if you will 🤣

very true! i think a lot of ‘unnecessary’ england hate comes from the ideas planted by foreign media…but thats my opinion as an english person so probably biased

hey! fair points on your thoughts on Hampton’s shithousery. It is something that could be fun in women’s football. my problem with how it got out. Hampton bragging about it, with the knowledge that it might’ve cost Spain the final (though let’s be real, it wasn’t the reason), just comes of unsportsmanlike, and not as shithousery. Another problem is the fact that if the roles were reversed, the fallout would be 10x worse. England fans and media are very much hypocrites, praising this as being cheeky, while if it happened to Hampton, Coll would get slammed.

anyway, i do mostly agree with you! just here trying to explain why people are so angry (while being very sleepdeprived, so my apologies if this doesn’t make sense). have a nice day!

yeah i totally get where you’re coming from. i think perspective is a big thing and the radio show she was on (talksport) do like them sort of stories about shithousery so thats probably why it sounded like she was bragging because she knew she’d get the backing of the presenters (if that makes sense) and to be fair i’d probably be annoyed if the roles were reversed but i think thats part of shithousery, you find it hard to enjoy it when its aimed at you🤣 but equally i think its opening up interesting debates into sportsmanlike behaviour in womens football which im enjoying

like i get some of you watch womens football because its not like the mens but as someone who grew up watching the premier league (and still enjoys it now) i love that shithousery aspect that mens football has
