Itâs been about a year, but Iâm back on my outsiders kick! Wait another 10 months, and I might make some follow-up drawings. :))
Joking aside, I got carried away, and now weâve got this! Post-rumble walk home. Darry got to show off his abs, Pony sprained an ankle, Soda lost his pretty privileges, Steveâs curls stayed perfectly intact, Two-Bit got brain damage, Dally broke his nose blocking a punch with his face, and Johnny kicked major ass! Eat up, my fellow outsider fans!
nooo i love u dally donât d1e

notes: ok so like, yâall know the 1986 movie Pretty in Pink? For those of you who havenât watched itâwatch it. Itâs amazing. For those of you who haveâŠhear me out. What if Steff McKee had a redemption arc that helped his character actually end up with Andie? This series is basically that! Enjoy <3
warnings: profanity
âYeah so Bennyâs been bitching about having to write up that assignment for Colinâs class. Apparently itâs because she messed with that Andie chick?â
âDamn thatâs tough. Anyways, you going to Steffâs party? Last one of the year before we graduate.â
âYeaa dude itâs gonna be so sick. As long as we donât walk in on Steff and Benny doing the dirty again. Then again if I was dating a betty like her, I wouldnât care who caught us. Haha isnât that right, Steff?â
I definitely was tuning them out. Did I hear what the said? Yeah. Did I give a rats ass about responding? No. I was too focused on the eccentrically-dressed, red-headed girl in the view of my carâs side mirror. âIâll see you guys later,â I say, brushing them off and strolling over to the pink car behind mine.
âAndie you look ravishing,â I said, approaching her trying to unlock her car. Like usual, she ignored me.
âListen,â I leaned against her car door, âWe graduate in a month, and I want to know when it is you and I can get together and do something.â
She looked down at me, irritation filling her eyes, exasperation coating her voice as she told me, âTry never.â
âIâm talking about more than sex here.â
âNo youâre not,â She scoffed.
âYou know, Iâve liked you for four years and you treat me like shit,â I debate back, honestly tired of constantly getting turned down by her, âI donâtâI donât understand. Whatâs your problem?â
âCan you get off of my car?â
âIâve been out with a lot of girls at this school,â I scoffed, âI donât see what makes you so different.â
âI have some taste,â She spit back.
âYouâre a bitch,â I muttered while popping a cigarette in my mouth, âYou gotta see a doctor because that condition of yours could get a lot worse.â
Fucking bitch. Four years. Four years I like that girl and all she does is reject me. If anything, I should be the one rejecting her. Iâm rich, handsome, and hell, I have been out with a lot of girls at this school. Iâm even dating Bennyâwhich is as far as you can go when dating high status girls here. I donât see how Andie thinks her and her thrifted outfits make her better than all the rest of the girls here.
I drove home and went up to my room. Sighing, I threw off my clothes and put on a robe before climbing into bed with a Forbes magazine. Really though, if Andie had reciprocated some feelings for me, that would not be an easy path to take. Nooo. Sheâs from the wrong side of the tracks. My parents would tear me apart if I brought home a chick who dressed like one of those lamps youâd find in a librarianâs home. Not to mention the shit Iâd get at school for dating below my social class.
Maybe in secret, though? Or maybe I could buy her some new shit to replace those god-awful ensembles she puts together. I donât know. All Iâm saying is, if Andie stopped being such an entitled bitch, Iâd have a shot.
*2 days later*
âI canât wait for your party tomorrow, Babe,â Benny whispered in my ear as she held onto my arm and kissed my cheek.
âYeah yeah, one last party filled with all the booze and sex you want,â I said as I got up to go take a walk around the halls before lunch period ended.
Benny Hanson. Blonde, beautiful, and a real pain in my ass. But hey, sheâs the kind of chick I donât feel the need to go steady with, so Iâll have my fun.
Walking through the halls, I peered out the window at the back courtyard where a lot of those weird edgy kids hang. I would rather be dead before I caught myself or any of my friends out there with those miscreantsâIs that Blane? My best friend? What the hell is Blane doing out with those outcasts?
From my view, I could see him sitting next to a familiar figure. They had on a black blazer and a ginger bob that looked a lot like Andieâs. Wait a minute. I took a few steps so I could get a look at the couple from a different angle. My heart ached and my stomach turned as I realized: Blane was out there with those weirdosâŠand he was out there with Andie.
Why the hell would Andie talk to Blane? Heâs essentially me but more of a pussy. And I thought she doesnât like my kind of people. I paced slowly around the hallway, waiting for Blane to get back inside so he could explain this nonsense to me.
A few minutes later, Blane walked past me, swinging his arms in glee. Yeah I bet heâs happy, he just got to talk to the girl Iâve been over the moon for 4 years for. I approached him from behind, trying to keep a calm tone, âHey Blane. How you doing?â
âHey buddy! Whatâs up?â He smiled at me. Wipe that smile off your face, you proud bitch.
âWhatâre you up to?â
âNot much, going to class.â
âWell I saw you outside.â
âSo?â He smiled nervously. Oh? Why so defensive?
âSo what were you doing?â I sat back as I waited for his answer.
Still, he looked very nervous. âWhatâre you? My mother?â he scoffed and smiled, âCome on, I gotta go. Iâll see you later.â
I squinted my eyes at him. âBlane whatâs going on?â
âNothing.â
âWell not nothing. I mean, I saw you talking to that chickâWhatâs her name? Andie or something?â I asked, trying to not make it obvious that I know her.
âSo what do you care?â
âListen, my best friend is conversing with a mutant, you know. Iâm curious. I donât think thatâs any reason to get defensive.â
âIâm not defensive. I just happen to like her, alright?â You just happen to like her? Well I just happened to like her for 4 years, so thatâs not much of a solid story there.
âListen itâs, you know, your life, itâs none of my business,â I dismissed as I got up.
âYou really donât think sheâs got something?â He asked hopefully, like he wanted my approval.
Yeah no shit I think sheâs got something. Why do you think Iâm even taking time to talk to you about her? But, I canât say that. So instead I just turned back at him and said, âNo. I really donât. Iâm sorry.â
Blane looked down, biting his lip while looking dejected. On the inside, I smiled in satisfaction. âYouâre gonna be late, buddy,â I noted as I pointed at the bell. It rang, and I walked off, leaving my best friend to contemplate him trying to pursue my crush.
Okay, Iâm not a dickhead for doing that. I liked her first.
*Flash back*
I was hanging around my locker before first period. It was my birthday, and I was wearing the bright pink blazer my grandma gave me the night before. Iâm not a pink person, but I love my grandma, so I wore it for her.
âSteff, buddy, youâre not homo, are you?â One of my buddies chuckled at me.
âWhat the hell,â I scoffed, âLay off me. Itâs my birthday.â
âWhatever man, just seems a bit odd to be wearing pink as a guy.â
I could feel my face turn a dark red. I looked down in embarrassment, about to change into a blue blazer I had in my locker...until a voice rang in my ears. "I like your blazer," it had said.
I turned around and faced whoever complimented me. It was a girl with ginger hair, wearing a quite interesting outfit that stood out from what a lot of girls at this school wear. She had on a pink floral maxi skirt and white boots paired with a white, mock-turtleneck blouse and pink vest. This girl had quite an assortment of random jewelry on, also sporting a pink bowler hat that was adorned with black flowers. On anyone else, this outfit would look like a mess, but on her...oh my gosh. She made it work. "Uhhh hello?" Her voice rang again.
I quickly snapped out of it, putting on the smile I typically use to attract girls. I held out my hand, "Hiya there. I'm Steff."
She rolled her eyes, but I swear I could see a smile slip onto her face as she shook it back. "I'm Andie, and I like your blazer. That guy was a real jerk for saying that crap to you."
My heart smiled as she complimented me. Andie's not the kind of chick I go for. My parents would skin me alive if they caught me bringing home a girl not like us, but I can work with that. Maybe if I go steady with her, I can get her to appeal to more of a common style that wouldn't be such an eyesore.
"Well thank you, Andie. You look pretty lovely yourself. I'm not the kind of person to go for someone who resembles a Monet, but hey, I dig trying out something new," I chuckled, expecting her to blush at my charm.
But no, she looked offended for some reason. "What exactly do you mean by that?"
"You know, a Monet looks okay from a distance until you get all up and close to see how much of a mess it is. But you make that work, and I admire your ability to pull that off."
Yeah, she didn't think that was charming at all. "Go to hell," Andie spat, storming off.
I leaned against my locker, wondering why she was being such a bitch. Oh well, her loss. I could get any girl I want, anyway.
Even though that didn't end well, I kept the bright pink blazer on.
notes: so that's part 1! i'm not sure how many parts this will be split up in, but we'll see (:
