Gotta say it, the Piaggo Avanti is one of the most unique and cool looking aircrafts
Something is off here! The Northrop X-21A was a 1960s American experimental research aircraft designed to test laminar flow control (LFC) wings. Modified by the Northrop Corporation from Douglas WB-66D airframes, it rerouted its jet engines to the rear fuselage to accommodate
underwing air compressors. These compressors sucked boundary-layer air through millions of microscopic slots in the wing skin, drastically reducing aerodynamic drag. While the program proved the technology could highly optimize aircraft efficiency, the intense maintenance
required to keep the tiny slots free of dust, ice, and debris ultimately led to its cancellation. #x21a #b66 #boneyardsafari #aviationsafari
