Rebekah was still trying to adjust to life in 2009. everything was so different. She sighed softly as she took a sip from the glass in front of her, motioning towards the compelled barman to fill her glass once more. Her eyes moving over and landing upon another blonde sat further down from her. ‘’Is this place always this eerily quiet? or have I chosen a bad day to drown my sorrows?’’ she questioned letting out a soft chuckle before taking a sip of the drink placed in front of her. Seemed she was searching to liven the place up, not that she had many options to choose from between the passed out males scattered around the bar.
After a sweet reunion with Stefan, followed by a not so sweet reunion with Damon, Lexi found herself alone frequently, especially in the day. But once the sun set she had the chance to mingle with the locals. Locals who seemed....just as boring as the bar she’d found herself in. With a chardonnay in one hand she looked over to the other blonde that had spoken, a small scoff slipping from her lips. “You know what, I have no idea. But considering I’ve been in here the past two nights it seems like you might be right.”

“ i’m not sure what’s so significant about a frozen rock being visible that it requires a celebration like this, ” castiel spoke to who he assumed was a human next to him, not yet laying his gaze on her, his eyes narrowed and scanning the crowd. humans were a confusing bunch. castiel didn’t understand their customs. why put everything on hold for something they could barely see and that affected them in no knowable way? “ humans can barely comprehend the size of it. they’re minuscule in comparison. yet for you, it’s but a spec in the expanse of the sky. and this is worthy of celebration? ”
“Well, aren’t you the chipper one.” lexi commented, lips pressing together in an amused smile. “and as interested as i am to ask you what exactly you mean by ‘humans’, why don’t you come join us and just watch the beauty in the fact that this comet has been surviving for another 145 years. there’s a sort of...admiration to know something will continue to do so for another hundred years.”
winchesxfms:
“Oh, really? Me too, that was..probably obvious though.” Sam replied, laughing back, suddenly feeling relieved that he wasn’t alone. “Yeah, that’s what it looks like. The candles are..weird though, I hope it’s not some kind of ritual.” He mentioned, struggling with putting a word to it.
“Ritual? What, are you scared of town cults?” Lexi asked in a teasing voice, eyes gleaming in entertainment from the lanky man’s awkwardness. Whoever he was, he seemed pretty harmless. “Are you heading up to the woods with everyone? Not sure what we do for all those hours but I’m pretty sure I heard a few people talking about free drinks. You in?”
ofobsidians:
willow had a different interest than most that were here, they were all concerned about getting the right spot to see the comet but she was concerned with making sure the flowers hadn’t been trampled upon by careless people. the vampire sat on her knees, hands brushing over the flowers and she smiled when they seemed to be intact. when she heard a voice she tucked her hair behind her ear and looked up at the person who spoke. “sorry, my head was in the ground.. almost literally. am i in you way?”
When Lexi had come across the other blonde she’d stood there a moment, silently surveying what on earth the woman was doing. Once it had finally dawned on her Lexi couldn’t help but smile faintly to herself, unaware she was talking until the other looked up in confusion.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to distract you. I said it was kind of you, to try and protect the flowers when everyone else is so unaware of their surroundings.”

It was proving difficult for the original vampire to stay away from her. Of course, he should have been expecting to be greeted with hostility from his sire, considering he upped and left her in her greatest time of need. However, Kol had made it his life’s mission to make her forgive him. All he wanted was to make Alexia Branson smile again - he missed the way her eyes crinkled at the corners, and the way those adorable creases lined the sides of her mouth. He wanted to see her eyes light up when she saw him - but not in the way they did during their first reunion. Not with anger, or hatred. The man could spot her a mile away, and as soon as he did, he sauntered in her direction. Without hesitation, he then snaked an arm around her form from behind, pulling her back against his chest. “What do you say we forget about our pathetic little dispute and enjoy this night together?” Kol was bold if nothing else.
With the countless gigs, festivals, and partying with celebrities this little town celebration about the comet passing in the sky wasn’t quite the rager that Stefan had promised her - but it was sweet. It reminded her of the lives she’d lived in countless small towns such as this one. And so for once the blonde was happy to sit back and relax, a drink in her hand and a content smile on her lips as she looked up at the stars. Despite the arm wrapping round her waist the vampire only tensed at the sound of someone who certainly wasn’t Stefan. Taking all her energy to not snarl at her sire a hand moved to cover his. To an innocent bystander it might of seemed like the two were a couple, as long as they didn’t hear the cold tone in which she spoke to him. “I have another plan. How about you take that off before I break it off.”

Since getting there Lexi had gotten rather bored, the hustle and bustle that she usually found charming now left her seeking some kind of attention. Stefan had wandered off to god knew where, leaving the blonde to reapply her lipstick in a huff, looking herself over once more as she checked her reflection in her compact mirror. “That boy is seriously missing out.” she muttered to herself, eyes rolling as she snapped the compact shut.

Where Stefan had wandered off to Lexi wasn’t quite sure, the mass groups of people being something a little more than she’d expected from such a small town. It was as she laughed to herself over the actions of some drunk humans that she noticed him lingering. “Damon. Why am I not surprised to see you here.” Lexi muttered, the venom evident in her voice as she said the vampires name. It had been years since she’d last saw the eldest Salvatore, and whatever anger she harboured against him paled in her concern for her friend. Tossing the cup of watering down booze to the floor she strode over to the dark haired man, a silent fury in her eyes as they stood face to face. “Whatever you’re here to do, it better not include Stefan.”
winchesxfms:
Sam walked around the town square, slightly curious as to why there were so many people out and about during the night. He probably missed the memo. “Oh, hey. Do you happen to know what’s going on?” He asked the person nearest to him, hoping that they were a local. He gestured to everyone else and noticed..candles. It seemed weird.
The man’s voice was enough to catch the blondes attention, turning with interest. From what Stefan said it was some kind of celebration that the locals were hosting....though all she heard was ‘free alcohol’. “Uhhh....to be honest I have no idea.” Lexi admitted with a laugh, shrugging her shoulders. “I’ve just got to town but...from the sounds of it there’s some kind of celebration?”
My heart is in films. I love being able to throw myself into a character, give it my all and then walk away and move on to the next. Film does that for me. There’s amazing writing on television right now, so yeah, keeping the balance between my TV shows and film sounds like a pretty spectacular life to me.

Something felt different, and Stefan could not quite put his finger on it. Perhaps it was his timely return to his home town, but something in his mind believed it was more than that. He had been watching Elena from afar, and he felt the urge to know her, and he had tried to avoid it for as long as possible but something within him had given in. He wouldn’t get in too deep, but he had to know her, to see if she was like Katherine. He hoped she wasn’t, he perceived her as so much more than that.
Despite this, Stefan felt in good stride, and had arrived home with the intention to remain home for the evening. He intended on remaining on the downl ow, knowing too well that the supernatural who had turned up recently had every intention of not doing so. This phased him, but he had no time to worry about what he could not control. He instead, decided to remain in, by the fire, diary in hand to write down what he ws thinking, knowing this was his easiest way of digesting information from the day.
‘Dear Diary - I did it – I spent a day without talking to he—’
Stopping in his tracks, upon hearing the faint sound of noises behind him, Stefan had no time to react until a familiar blonde stood in front of him. He didn’t expect to see her, but he was more than happy that she was there. His true best friend, the one person who saw every piece of good within him.
“Lexi –” Arms moved to encase his friend in a hug, chuckling softly to himself.
A warm laugh left the blonde as his arms encased around her, more than happy to settle against the young vampires frame. The adoration in his voice speaking merely her name was evident, and hazel eyes shone with affection as she pulled back, looking up at her best friend.
It was a relief to Lexi that Stefan looked well - which was unsurprising since he was a pretty attractive guy - but it wasn’t just his wellbeing she wished to check on. No, there had to be a reason for returning to Mystic Falls, and she needed to know what it was. Not to stop him (unless he was doing something incredibly self destructive) but to help him, as she always did. Stefan was her best friend, and one of the closest people she had in her life, and there was no way she was going to let him face his past demons, be they memories or people, alone.
“Did you really think I wouldn’t come after you told me you were coming back to Mystic Falls?” she asked, eyebrow quirked at Stefan as she looked up at him.

fresh blood trickled down the side of his lips , telling the unfortunate story of a waitress who was at the wrong place at the wrong time . niklaus had made her death quick and relatively painless . no compulsion necessary , she had knocked out within the first minute . he had left the lifeless body somewhere in the back alleyway , allowing the town to write it off as another animal attack . he didn’t care enough to be sneaky about it . upon taking a few steps back towards the town square , he noticed someone watching him , clearly afraid or dare he say curious of the new face that had rolled back into town . “ come on out now . i’ve made quite the mess . do you have a napkin to offer me ? “
being bound to the night had it’s drawbacks, but the main thing was the waiting. countless hours trapped inside, with nothing to entertain herself with. which was why she’d gone in search for a good bar in town. the scent of blood however, was enough to deter her attention, heeled boots echoing in the street as she followed the scent, hazel eyes narrowing in evident disapproval at the sight of such obvious disinterest in human life from the stranger. “a napkin? no. but if you need some guidance on how to treat humans like more than just meat i’d be happy to entertain you.”

THIS POSITION WAS SOMEWHERE that Kol often found himself wherever Alexia Branson was concerned. Century upon century had passed since the first time the two beings met. He had been drawn to her immediately of course, her beauty a league of its own, above and beyond that of any other. You could say that was his main reasoning for allowing her into his life, to letting her see beyond the barriers he’d forced around his heart. But, in actuality, the reason he allowed her to see into the very depths of his soul, was her fire. The two beings were similar in some ways, though she held a lot more care than he. It was something he admired about her, something he could only dream of having. Humanity was something entirely foreign to Kol, having harbored the gift of vampirism for much too long of a time to even remember what being human felt like.. Though, Alexia Branson brought it out in him, she showed him how to live a human life, how to live life outside of the shadows - as long as there wasn’t a white oak dagger in his heart, that was.
CURRENTLY, THE MALE WAS PINNED to a wall, the dainty hand of one Miss Alexia Branson encasing his throat. His signature smirk was still placed firmly on his lips, knowing that, since he was the one to turn her, he would be able to overpower her with ease. But, he’d let her do what she had to do. Of course, the terms at which they had parted hadn’t been the best. There was a deep seeded hint of regret in the pit of the male’s stomach. Although, he knew that the children she raised would be far better off without him - he’d never wanted children, not even when he was human. So, he ran for the hills, leaving Lexi to look after the three boys all by herself. “It’s wonderful to see you too, DARLING.” Kol murmured, voice ever so slightly strained by the tight grasp the blonde held on his throat. “I MISSED you.” Sincerity laced those final words.
THERE WERE FEW people that could get under her skin in such a way, but the vampire smirking in front of her certainly knew how. Even when she’d been human he’d known how to catch her attention, small smiles and whispered promises enticing her, thrilling her. Centuries later and even the mere sight of him had the blonde’s anger flare, and before the woman knew what she was doing her hand was clasp around his neck, a dangerous snarl coming from the back of her throat as her grip tightened. They hadn’t parted ways on bad terms; in fact, often he crossed her mind in fondness. He’d gifted her with this life after all, and if it wasn’t for him she wouldn’t of met some of the most important people in her life. But he was dangerous, and the reason she was in Mystic Falls at all was to make sure Stefan was safe.
AN AMUSED SMIRK curled at her lips, his words causing a shiver to run down her spine. It had been too long since she had heard his voice, almost craving it as she lowered her hand from his neck. Taking him by surprise had been entertaining, but she was no fool as to who out of the two of them would win in a challenge of strength. “Well, isn’t this a unexpected surprise my love.” she commented in a low tone, her old term of endearment for him feeling almost foreign on her tongue. “Funny, I feel like you might need actual human emotions to miss someone.” she added, sharp tongued as ever as she dug her nails into his neck, applying just enough pressure to make the skin break.

It had taken her by surprise when Stefan let her know that he was returning to Mystic Falls (in a letter, despite her best efforts to drag him into the 21st century). His hometown, and a place for much of his pain. There was a concern in her, that perhaps the younger vampire was feeling particularly self destructive with his plans to move to a town that actively knew about the supernatural. But whatever his reasons were, she was going to find out p- and not through some letter weeks later in the mail.
Travelling by night was always a little irksome for the blonde, but she’d perfected the technique, crashing in humans homes in each town as she travelled across the states in her car, compelling them to hide her until sunset and erasing their memories with ease before finding her next location - until eventually she was standing outside the Salvatore home, a hand on her hip and a smirk on her lips.
Of course she could knock - but scaring Stefan was always way more fun.
The boarding home was quiet as she slipped through the door, thankful that being invited in wasn’t an issue. At least there was clearly someone home. And sure enough there was, a man seated near the fireplace. It was easy for Lexi to recognise the broad back of her best friend, and as he turned she sped, flinging herself on top of him, a strange noise mixed between a snarl and a laugh leaving her lips.
“Hi handsome” she whispered in a breath, eyes shining brightly as she stared at the younger vampires face. “Miss me?”
