She was jealous of how close we were -- at the time only friends -- and she once threatened to cut me off from your life completely. That wouldn't have worked, though.

Do you remember what you told me? The day that you left my campus to go back to Cincinnati? You said, "I love you, Sarah. You were an inevitability. You always were." I love that. I read that text all the time. Because you're right, in your life I was an inevitability -- our paths crossing was something that was supposed to happen. It happened seven years ago when I was a dorky middle schooler hanging out at a high school football game, and it happened again when we were in high school.
