Hello Mexico!
Patβs a good snow dog sculptor!
Lima
Paracas and Islas Ballestas.
Dune fun in Huacachina
Nasca lines visit. Andy took the flight and I went to the viewing tower and mountain. That was a good decision- most people on his flight puked π€’
To get to the canyon, me and cuz Andy took a shuttle that went over a 16,000ft Pass! And we saw a volcano erupting :)
Colca Canyon trek.... including a close encounter with 2 Andean Condors!
Next I flew to Arequipa and met up with cousin Andy. Arequipa has a huge old monastery we walked around. And this city loves manger scenes. They were everywhere. We saw an anti corruption protest here. The day after the protest, the President had an impeachment vote scheduled due to corruption. It was expected that he would be impeached, but he wasnβt. Just a few days later on our last day in Peru, the president pardoned the former president from the opposition party. The former president was serving the rest of his life in jail for corruption and human rights abuses. It is expected the current president cut a deal with the opposition party so he would be impeached. There are more protests now.
Super long day trip to Machu Pichu. 3+ hour train ride and then bus up the mountain.
I had a tough couple of days in Cusco with the altitude. Cusco is at 11,000 feet and the ruins I walked to on day one are at 12,000 feet.
Cusco trip!
The mountains are turning red ππ
Can't believe summer is almost over. Termination dust already made an appearance.
Camping with the doggies ππβ°
Rabbit lake hike :)
