I've been working on a new animation focused on Boxing. It's going to be a short film and this is a teaser of the work I've done so far.

I can't exactly understand anything, but I love the style of illustration and animation throughout the whole piece.
Great video of some great artists, enjoy
Last night were the 53rd Annual Hatch Awards for advertising and I came out with a Silver Cup thanks to this video!
Finally after nearly 2 years I updated the look of my website and added a few new things to it.
New work is in process
Good read from a very successful man.
I've been very busy for the past few months, I started a job as an animator at a marketing agency which has been pretty awesome so I had to put personal projects on the back burner for the moment. I'm slowly getting back into them and this here is a shot from my next piece. It's far from finished and may be turned into a short 30 second advertisement.
At the moment I'm also redesigning my website and doing a few other small projects to beef it up. I'll try to update here more
New Stuff in the Works...
Again I have gone some time without an update but that is going to stop soon.
For the past 3 weeks I have been working a lot at a company doing Flash Animation, Motion Graphics and Storyboarding.
In addition I have been trying to start 2 more animations, one is the guitarist and the second is going to be a short ~30 second piece as a sequel to my basketball animation - but in a different sport.
More to come this weekend (I promise)
found this site of infographics while checking out a cool one on espn. I really enjoy seeing information translated into visuals so I looked through almost everything on the site. They also have amazing illustrations. This one I found the most amusing.
I was hoping to put up some finished style frames by this point, but other commitments have slowed my progress. This is the direction one of my shorts is headed in, but I have at least 5 different possibilites for the finished style. I hope to have those up soon.
PS - the colors seem to be altered by the export again, I will address that when I put up the final images
MicMac Lane is on ESPN.com
As you all may or may not know, my animation recently encountered a lot of success online. One of the emails I received was from a writer/editor on ESPN.com's Playbook section. As of today, it made it onto the page. Here is the link to check it out

This is amazing.
While I work on my animation I wanted to upload some pictures from my sketchbook. These are currently on my website as well, however I thought it might be nice to put some here.
This one I still think is unfinished, so I have just been having fun with mark making and giving it more energy.
This is a quick sketch of the short animation I hope to release soon. It's based off a 10 second video of my friend Josh and will be looped a few times. I am currently working on a style frame which will be uploaded in the next day or two.

So the other day I released my animation to a more public forum as I removed its password and put it in a public group. Within 4 days it blew up and is at almost 20,000 plays which was way more than I ever could have imagined. It also was featured on thereel.net which you can view on their website through this link http://www.thereel.net/video/latest/742828189
I appreciate everybody who has watched it and if you're all patient I am in the process of working on a few personal pieces which hopefully will be done in a few months.
In Case You Were Curious (Yes you were)
To add to my previous posts, I should say that I am lucky to have about 4 freelance pieces going right now.
Two animations, one logo/photoshop design for a car dealership and an illustration for some bar mitzvah invites.
Many more in progress shots will be on their way.
This is yet another project I am working on, this is for a Thanksgiving campaign, I cannot give many details at the moment, but it includes hand turkeys, football, a parade and a kick line.
Soon all these progress shots will culminate into some final pieces.
For this piece I am creating everything in Photoshop, using the brushes to give it a textured, hand drawn look and then animating them in AfterEffects.
Quick screenshot of a current freelance piece I'm doing. It's to promote an art series in the fall, this is the music section.
I have about a week to finish it, so more updates coming soon.
All elements are being created in Illustrator or AfterEffects and then animated with AfterEffects
