Deux oeufs pochés sur croissant ou baguette avec jambon et fromage emmental Servis avec fruits, confiture, mini-viennoiserie et café régulier, thé ou tisane.
I was walking down Rue Beaubien early in the morning and saw this boulangerie. I am seated by a friendly Beatrice and I ordered Poché Croissant for 9,50 – 2 freshly and perfectly poached eggs on top of a thin but delectable slice of ham and delicate and tasty emmental cheese (with the right thickness) melted the right amount on top, on a croissant, and included regular coffee. Another delicate pastry was included, and a side of fresh apple sauce and fresh fruit salad was included, which was the perfect end to cut the breakfast. Beatrice was kind to refill my cup everytime I asked.
There were a lot of old people that looked like retirees, 60s and older, who took their time in the café doing crossword puzzles, reading the newspaper, slowly enjoying their breakfast. I saw an older man, possibly in his 70s or older, and the way he was unabashed and full of bright, positive energy while being aplomb, smooth and charming with the ladies, both young Beatrice (who must’ve been in her 20s) and the other older lady patrons, was something I watched and admired, and I just tried to learn from what he was doing, charming and making the ladies laugh, brighten their day.
I asked Beatrice for help with translating something I wanted to tell a Quebecoise girl I met advice on her situation she told me, from English to French. Beatrice was nice to help translate it to me (understanding what I wanted to say), and cheekily, she said this was absolutely right:
La plupart du temps, intuition féminine est mieux que l’intuition masculine.
